It was a pleasant summer's day, the perfect day to begin a journey in the perfect tropical get-away region. Yayli Town was beginning to disappear as Delilah traveled with her pokemon, Nani perched up on her shoulder as usual, was joined by a particularly small Flabebe who took up very little space between Nani and Delilah's neck. While she was out in the open, the tiny fairy could disappear quite easily into her trainer's hair if need be. However, the Wurmple had no interest in fighting, so Jasmine was Delilah's main source of protection (with the exception of her lovely personality).
The teenager tugged a tan sunhat out of her luggage and adjusted it so that it gave everyone shade as the gentle breeze cooled them just right. A small smirk grew on Delilah's face. It was the perfect setting, and she felt confidence build in her with each step. She was doing this, really doing this! None of her classmates would be going on a journey for at least another three years, if at all, but Delilah knew that the stuffy mansions and even stuffier classrooms just wouldn't cut it. She needed hands-on experience, no more books or holographic simulations with perfectly obedient holo-pokemon. Ever since she met Nani she knew she needed a journey.
"Oh," Delilah said quietly as she came to stop. "Was this the fork that intern said something about?" She asked, presented with a fork in the road. <"You were in such a hurry to get out that I didn't even hear her.."> Nani saida little dryly at her trainer. "Don't start with m-" Delilah began before Jasmine pointed a thin arm to the left. <"Left, go left! They always tell new trainers to go left.."> Jasmine started out strong, though her voice dwindled toward the end, as if embarrassed for her outburst. "Oh, perfect! Thank you, Jasmine!" Delilah smiled to her shy pokemon who tugged gently at one of the petals on her flower meekly.
So, off onto the left path they went, feeling great about the way the day had begun.
There was a rock that had been placed on the shore by the waves coming from the ocean. And upon that rock, the sun was shining down ever so perfectly. The rock itself was just an alright rock but with the clouds and sun rays added in, it was the perfect spot for a Pokemon to sit. The Staryu had been watching the rock from it's spot clinging to the wooden post that supported the dock in Yayli town. It had been dreaming of taking that rock where the waves casually brushed against it and the sun warmed it, unlike its shady, wood post. A few Wingulls had tried taking the rock but failed as trainers had come by and scared them off, even managing to catch one. The Staryu knew it would not have the same fate as the Wingulls. Instead it would have the fate of the slowpoke that had occupied the rock the day before. It had lazily slept on the rock without a single trainer noticing it and when night came, it meandered off to find something else to do. The Staryu made up its mind. While the perfect sun spot was open, it would take it with force. In a single leap, the Staryu removed itself from the post and landed with a splash in the waves. It swam with haste to the shore and was pushed gently up to the rock. After a few lifts and strides, the Staryu rested its limbs peacefully. It was after one minute of being on the rock that Staryu was reminded how much it disliked the sun but much rather preferred its wooden post. It thrashed about for a moment in hopes of getting off the rock with no results. It would simply have to suffer in the sunshine for a while longer until something happened.

Sand mixed in with gravel made a crunching, scrapping sound as Delilah walked along the trail quietly. She found herself entertained in the way the bill of her sunhat bounced with each step she took and soon found herself humming softly. This was something Delilah never had the pleasure of, simply walking with a vague destination with no time frame, though she wanted to see as much of the region as possible so there was no reason to dilly-dally.
The trainer was well on her way, her feet finding their pace and she kind of spaced out, focusing on walking until there was a little peep in her ear. <"Uh-uhm.. Are they stuck?"> Jasmine floated forward just a bit as Delilah came to a stop, pointing at a rock off to the side by the shore where the waves met the beach. On that rock was a Staryu, who thrashed around for a moment and then stopped, seemingly having given up. "Oh, Staryu, I think I've read about those. They're Water Pokemon.. Why would it be out in the sun?" Delilah spoke mainly to herself as the small Fairy placed a hand over her mouth meekly. "C'mon, let's go see." The trainer decided, hopping off the train and down the slope to the beach and slowly came up to stand next to the rock with a Staryu laying on it, Jasmine close behind her trainer. "Hey, are you okay? I didn't think Staryu liked sunbathing.."
The sun was becoming unbearably hot and dry. A small source of shade then moved itself over the Staryu. It looked around, wanting to thank whatever had decided to save the poor seacreature from the fate of drying up in the sun. That's when it noticed the trainer looking over it with Pokemon perched on her shoulder. Oh no, how embarrassing the encounter was about to become. Two Pokemon just witnessed the Staryu fail at being a Staryu. What was worse was that they had a trainer to care for them. Any other Pokemon and the Staryu would walk away just looking stupid but now?! Now it had to deal with the fact that two creature who didn't have to survive on their own thought it looked stupid. Flustered, the sea star tried to explain to the trainer, 'Well, I just, you see.. It was yesterday, and, the slowpoke... This rock, its been... The sun just... I...' It stopped. Taking a deep breath it looked at the trainer with its gem faintly glowing in and out, a sign that was trying to convey the idea of sympathy. 'It was a mistake and I would very much like to get back into the water. Will you please help me?'

While the Staryu wasn't exactly expressive, through the dull gleam of its gem, Delilah could tell he wasn't happy about the situation. She had no idea just how embarrassed it had felt until it tried to explain what happened, nervously stuttering and making no sense. Something about a Slowpoke was mentioned, but Delilah had a hard time believing any Slowpoke would be capable of moving the Staryu here, even with its Psychic powers. "Oh, I see.." She said slowly as the Staryu paused for a moment, collecting it's thoughts.
Finally, it asked for assistance, apparently having put itself in its predicament. "Yeah, no problem!" Delilah responded quickly, always happy to help out any Pokemon (since they are so much better than people). Delilah moved to the lowest part of the rock and would move her hands underneath the Staryu in an attempt to pick it up or prop it up at least.
After having asked for help removing itself from the rock, the trainer agreed. Oh thank the heavens that she was kind enough to not laugh at her but rather assist the poor and helpless Pokemon. She started reaching down and that was when the Staryu began to have doubts. Her hands were so large.. And.. They were coming right at it. Those hands could easily crush the poor Pokemon if the trainer wanted to. The hands could also throw the little light weight creature so far out into the ocean that something would eat it. It started to squirm as the hands closed in around it. But then, something changed. The hands were no longer terrifying as they lifted the Pokemon from the rock and through the air. The sensation of the air moving around the Staryu was amazing. It was like the star was as powerful as the threatening flying type that cast shadows on everything below. A noise started to emit from the Staryu. "Whheeeeeeeeeeeeee!" It laughed and giggled so much that it's appendages wiggled around aimlessly. "Never put me down! This is the most fun I have ever had!" The Pokemon laughed loudly as the air removed the searing sensation the sun had caused moments ago. Perhaps even the idea of being thrown was not a bad one. Now it knew why the Mantines were constantly jumping out of the water and flying through the air for a moment. The wind was heaven.
