My amber hair whips around my shoulder as I toss it back as it had fallen forwards as I slept. It was an uncomfortable position to sleep in. On your stomach, but I was so tired yesterday from being in Crystal city. How pokemon news teams found out I would be coming here was a mystery to me. An Elite Four member being spotted anywhere get's attacked and swarmed by the people hungry for reports about us, recent challengers, everything. My shoulder ached from my arm being half off the bed and the weight of my head resting half on it. I wish I had more time before falling into the bed at the hotel, so that I wouldn't have gotten into that position.
Today is the day I "start" my journey. Even if it isn't really a start. I started at age twelve when I met Straightwing as a Trappinch. I don't even know why I named that adorable bug the name I gave it. Maybe because I knew it would transform into the elegant pokemon that would become one of my most trusted partners. I am leaving Straightwing and the others behind for now so that I can restart and be something like a real pokemon trainer. I have arranged with whoever is at the pokemon lab to get a 'starter' pokemon for me. I sigh as I go into the luxurious bathroom at turn on the shower, letting warm water drip over me. I sigh in relief as the tension from yesterday flows out of me and into the steam surrounding me.
I hop out of the shower and dry myself off using one of those fluffy towels that hotels give you that I adore. I look around the room, looking for my suitcase, and then pout for a moment when I remember all I am bringing is just a few pairs of clothes instead of half my closet. I get dressed in a white sweater and a red skirt before proceeding downstairs, hurriedly trying to get away early before the news teams get a wind of where I have been staying the past night.
I walk down the street towards the pokemon lab, my red bag wrapped over my shoulders. A yawn escaped my mouth and last for about eight seconds as I realize how tired I really am. I reach the door to the pokemon lab and knock once, then twice. I came all the way from Destiny Keep just to come to this building. I hope it was worth it, the excitement of another adventure. I will need to make sure I can be reached easily by the other elite four members and champion to notify me if there is a challenge schedule because then I would need to haul myself all the way back there, so this better be worth it.
As I wait for the door to open I muse about what pokemon the professor might show to me. It would be cool to get a dragon type, but maybe it would be nice to switch things up a bit and get an ice type of some sort. They always seemed very cool to me as challengers showed them off in battle against me. I always saw a lot of ice types from trainers who came against me. I didn't really understand it at first until I saw how powerful they were against dragon types. At least if I don't get presented with a dragon type as a choice, I could hope for an ice type which would make catching a dragon type a load easier.
I wait a few more minutes, wondering what could be taking so long. Maybe I was up to early for the pokemon professor. I think I shouldn't guess why he was taking so long because I had never really been to a pokemon lab so I had no idea what it would be like. Maybe he got stuck in an invention or maybe a pokemon had killed him in the middle of the night. No clue really, my imaginative mind did like to think about what could have happened. Then I just concluded he must not be awake yet or something similar to that.
Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. The receptionist, Hayley, clicked her pen slowly. The Sewaddle that was curled up on her desk was not even acknowledging the noise but rather snoozing gently. She was supposed to be doing paperwork left over from the previous day, but zoning out to pen clicks sounded much more appealing than transferring documents and copying information from paper into the computer. That was when a gentle knocking happened on the front door. Hayley let out a sigh, if people would just read the sign things would go much easier on her side. She considered just calling out that it was open and she could come in but at the same time that required the effort of using her vocal cords. Instead, she prodded the Sewaddle until it woke up. She nodded towards the door, hoping the Pokemon would understand.
The little bug grumbled to itself about being woken up from its nap to open a door for the lazy receptionist. Eventually he dropped down to the ground and crossed the small lobby floor to the door. In just a matter of seconds he was climbing his way up the front door to the handle. In his small bug hands he pushed the door open. The woman smiled and nodded at the successful Sewaddle and waited for the new trainer to come inside.
While I was waiting for whoever was there to open the door, I looked around and continued thinking about what pokemon I would get. As I thought about I decided that if I had a choice for it, I would choose Sneasle. That was only a fantasy though, what are the chances that I would get the pokemon I wanted as a choice? If I did had a choice though, the swift dark and ice type would be number one. As the ideas of what I could do streamed through my mind I saw a sign near the door that I seemed to have missed. It said: "THE DOOR IS OPEN." I blush furiously in embarrassment, I must have annoyed someone in there. As I reached for the handled the door swung open in front of my outstretched hand.
I don't see anyone at first and I am scared for a moment that a ghost pokemon opened and is standing behind me, waiting to scare me. Then I look down and see a tired looking Sewaddle. It is positively one of the cutest things I have ever seen. A smile spreads across my face and I crouch down to the tired looking Sewaddle and my kind smile shines on it. "Hi!" I said happily, "Aren't you a cute lil' thing?" I say happily. I then stand back up and walk in to see someone at a desk.
"Um," I stutter out suddenly very shy, "Do you know perhaps where the Professor is?" I ask. I walk a bit more into the room and I stand near the desk now. It has this little area which looks like it is a sleeping area. Oops, the tired, adorable Sewaddle must have been asleep.

Hayley let out a small sigh as the woman who walked in asked if the Professor was around. "Did you make an appointment to see him? He is not in town at the moment. He was summoned to the Resort on the account that two Ralts were born this morning. I can leave a message for you and he will contact you back as soon as he gets in." The receptionist finished her scripted words with a deep breath. Talking that much and that fast often left her without breath. She clicked her pen and grabbed a piece of paper, ready to write down whatever the young woman needed.
It was then that Hayley noticed something about the woman, she was one of the Elite Four. Perhaps she had serious business with the Professor and made an appointment. What if her Pokemon were in trouble and on their death beds and the Professor had a magical cure sitting in the back of the office. If that were the case she would feel a little guilty about being so blunt, but at the same time, there were many people who came in to talk to the Professor for the most idiotic of reasons. Hopefully, the League member would not be one of those people.
Zuzu stood nervously while awaiting the answer from the Receptionist. Then words flowed from the person's mouth, and they sound perfectly scripted. She must have had a lot of work put into making that small speech. Zuzu felt kind of disappointed, "Um, well, I did make an appointment." Then she looked up at the receptionist and said, "Well, it's ok though. It was for a small thing anyways." Zuzu just hoped this person didn't know who she was. It's more fun to be around people who don't go: 'OMGYOURPARTOFTHEELITEFOURCALLTHENEWS!'
So instead she asked the receptionist in a mild tone, "Could I just come back later then? I was just hoping to get a pokemon from him. You see I want to go on a little journey and he said he could supply me with a pokemon to start with." Maybe that would also distract her from the fact Zuzu being part of the Elite Four. She really hoped it would because she really did hate when it happened that she was found out.
Zuzuki started to back up slowly, not to draw attention to herself backing away but right when she got an answer from the receptionist she would be able to leave swifter than she could if she was right next to the desk at the far end of the room. Far away from the door that she would need to get out of to escape.

OOC: I'm sorry this one's so sort. I'm tired and low on muse right now </3
Oh, she did have an appointment but just for a starter. The Professor had probably wanted to talk to her about League related topics. Normally he just handed off the job to one of his assistants like his daughter or even Hayley herself. The receptionist straightened her back and nodded. "I'm sorry the Professor isn't here today. I can retrieve you a starter though. I will let him know you stopped by and he might call you. It is rare that starter appointments are taken on by the Professor himself." She stood up from her desk in order to find three Pokeballs that were up for grabs. That was when she remembered the Sewaddle that was curled up in a sleepy ball in front of the Elite Four's feet. "That little guy himself is an option. He seems to have taken a liking to you. I will be right back with two other options."
Hayley made her way into the storage room where they kept plenty of starter options. There were of the generic starters but she felt as though the League member needed something more important than the average Squirtle. The only other Pokemon that were kept in the lab were baby Pokemon that they were born because of the lab. She looked around for a moment before pulling two Pokeballs from their homes and returning to the main lobby. She was quick to release the Pokemon, not wanting to keep the Elite from important business. "Other than the Sewaddle, I have for you a Spheal and an Oddish." Hayley released the Pokemon together. The Spheal was not impressed with the woman before her at all. She stuck her nose in the air and turned quickly to the receptionist, looking for a treat. The Oddish on the other hand stared at the woman, completely stunned to be out of his cozy little Pokeball. "Which one would you like?"
The lady at the desk expresses a remark about how sad it is that the professor isn't here, but that she could get my starter pokemon for me. At least that's a relief. "Thank you." I say graciously with a small, shy smile, guessing this must feel for most new trainers when they get their first pokemon. Straightwing had been my friend before he had decided on coming on the journey with me when she had asked. He had been my starter pokemon, not some pokemon from the lab. I looked down with a small smile to see the Sewaddle curled into a small ball at my feet, seemingly asleep. I then waited for the receptionist to come back from rooting around in a room behind where she had been sitting. I presume that's where they kept all the starters given to trainers.
While the rummaging was going on, I occupied myself by staring at the adorable Sewaddle, who I was now sure was fast asleep. It's small mouth breathing in, and out, in and out. I almost laugh, but instead I just let another smile creep onto my face. For some reason today I have been smiling a lot. I think it is because I am getting another pokemon friend. I look back up slowly as the receptionist returns from her mission into the room behind her, holding two more pokeballs. Without saying anything she opened them, two pokemon bursting out.
The receptionist said their names as she released them even though I already knew the names of them. Spheal and Oddish. I have faced off against many of them before as people have brought them to my hall in the elite four. I can't say much about the oddish. I haven't seen much of it or it's evolutions. Right when they emerged from their pokeballs, the Spheal stuck it's nose up pompously at me and went off somewhere (I think in search of some treats), and the oddish seemed surprised to be out of it's pokeball. I guess these are my choices, unconventional as they may be. They certainly weren't the average grass, fire, and water choices most trainers start off with as choices.
I took a few seconds, thinking about each pokemon in turn, but then I looked down at the sleeping Sewaddle and made my decision as I stared at it's adorable sleeping form. I look back up at the receptionist who had gotten the pokemon for me, and I said, "It was a hard decision, but I think I choose Sewaddle." Yet another smile forms across my face and I know that there is likely to be many more smiles from now on.
wordcount: 448 ooc: *yawns* I woke up at 3:30 am for some reason, its 7:00am and I am surprised I was able to write this much. thank you again for modding this thread
Congratulations on choosing your first Pokemon. You may now start your journey as a trainer. Below are the items that you receive in your starter pack as well as the needed information on your new Sewaddle. Enjoy!
Starter Pack -- Town Map -- Pokedex -- 5x Pokeballs
. Sewaddle || Male || Swarm The baby Sewaddle has quite a diverse personality. He enjoys sleeping and any time that he is seen in the sun he cannot help but to begin snoozing and taking small cat naps. However, if you keep the little thing in a shady area he is one of the most energetic and useful Pokemon around. A scientist might claim that he has Pokemon bipolar disorder with how vastly different he acts in the two settings.
