After finding her Starly and finally agreeing upon what Roman meant by later, Aveta had rushed off to get to route one. She wanted to train and possibly even catch a Pokemon. After all, she had never battled before, only heard stories of what it was like. Here was her chance to understand what it meant to be a trainer. It was her time to actually bond with the Starly that she had received hours ago. This time though she was going to be a little smarter about things.
The trainer glanced down at the Pokeball that was wiggling again. Her Pokemon must have really hated it in there with how often it was shaking. Was it possible for him to break free? She shook her head and kept walking along route one. She needed to know how to battle before she got to Crystal City or else she would walk in like an oblivious fool and make a complete ass of herself. Nothing would say worthless trainer more than starting a battle without a single clue as to how to fight. If she made that blunder as well as losing her Pokemon after such a short amount of time of owning it she would surely be the laughing stalk of the region. Well, at least then should would be known for something. She laughed at the thought a little before pushing on further.
She must have been about halfway down the route by this time and she still had yet to see a single Pokemon. She thought back to the beach and while she hadn't really seen any Pokemon up close, she had not been looking. But now she was, which begged the question, where were all of the Pokemon? Had other trainers cleared out the area completely? Was she simply just too late to see anything? She heard a shuffling noise coming from behind her.
Aveta spun around, her hand poised on the Pokeball that refused to stop shaking. Alright, this was the moment where she would learn. This was the time to put all of her knowledge to use and actually battle and capture a Pokemon. She knew she had to weaken it first. She knew that once she was confident enough she should throw an empty Pokeball and hope that it caught it. It was time to release the Starly, or so she thought until she realized there wasn't a Pokemon in front of her. What had made that shuffling noise then? Was there something there?
The path that passed the small shrubbery and fallen log that many Foongus Pokemon called home had been strangely quite that day. Which meant that all of the Foongus Pokemon were happy and out wandering through the nearby meadow. Most days they were required to sit quietly by their little log and defend themselves from all of the cruel trainers who wished to capture them. There was one particular Foongus who had decided to stay by the log and shrub that day. He had decided that it was too hot and too sunny for his liking and the shade was just his place. Truthfully, he was looking for a battle. All of the other members of his family got to go out and fight the trainers when their poison clouds did not work. He was always "too young" to fight. Today though when everyone else was out, he was going to be in a battle.
There was the sound of walking coming up the path when the Pokemon was lost in thought about what moves he would use. He was jerked out of his thoughts when the feet were heard right beside the small shrub. The Foongus was quick to roll his way out onto the path. He held his breath as he stared at a large human that had her hand on a Pokeball. Oh no, it was all too real. She was far too big for his liking. The small little mushroom was quick to roll himself back beneath the shrub. No, he had to do this. He rolled himself for a final time back out into the open. Just as the trainer seemed to be losing interest in the noise she had heard behind her, the little fungus jumped up into her face, pounding his little rump onto her nose before landing back on the ground ready to fight. "Give me all that you got!" he shouted out, eager for the battle of his life.
It took a moment, but Aveta eventually spotted the Pokemon. It was a small mushroom looking creature that was jumping straight towards her. The Pokemon bounced off her nose and landed on the ground, shouting in squeeks of the word Foongus. What in the hell was a Foongus? After a second of pondering, the girl pulled out her Pokedex, a wonderful gift from the lab where they gave her a botched Pokemon. Apparently the mushroom was often luring people into the grass with its Pokeball shaped head and squirting poison up at them. It seemed like quite a mean creature. Well, at least she would not have any remorse for attacking it.
With that final thought the trainer pulled out the Pokeball that had been shaking on her waist all day long. "Starly, we've got a fight to win." After a flash of red light the bird landed, looking back at his owner with a devilish grin. Alright, so this was it; a Pokemon battle. The Starly himself seemed more than ready to fight his way to the top but Aveta herself was beginning to have doubts. She didn't even know any moves that a Starly had. Wait. Yes she did. One of the orphans that had returned to tell stories had an encounter with the bird. It was a basic Pokemon that littered new areas and was filled with basic normal and flying attacks, right? That meant it probably could tackle things and most likely had a wing attack. But what about something to weaken the Foongus? Or should she even worry about that?
Aveta shook her head and frowned. "Alright, start out with..." She paused for a moment. The Foongus must have thought she was a worthless trainer. Her Starly was probably having the same thoughts. "Tackle! And then.. Be quick and use Wing Attack?" She bit her lip as her Starly simply shook his head and went forward. He started to sprint forward at an alarming rate. His movements were so fast that it appeared as though there were three of him running forward. That must have been a move called Double Team. She had heard about it and knew that it made the Pokemon harder to hit. Well, it wasn't quite a tackle but it was probably in the Starly's best interest. After a moment he was mere inches away from the Foongus with his double team. He was quick to take the air, his wings glowing white as they shot energy down on the mushroom. There was his wing attack. At least he had stayed somewhat true to what she wished. Perhaps she had quite a bit to learn from the creature before she took complete control over the battle.
The small little Foongus watched as the trainer summoned a big, black bird to aid her. Starly. It was an annoying bird that was often on their route trying to eat the Foongus colony. It was time to exact revenge on all the lost brothers. The Pokemon began to grow, little by little, increasing his power as the trainer called out attacks. The bird's reaction was comical as it shook his head and disobeyed. It began to move so quickly that second images of it appeared, all of them racing towards the little mushroom. It was alright though, the fungus had grown a few inches and was biding his time. He was eagerly waiting to absorb the energy that the bird was about to transfer into him. That way, he could just punch it right back at the bird.
That was when it happened. The Foongus had assumed it would be a simple little tackle that the Starly was going to do. But, it was not. Instead the Pokemon had gone with a wing attack, a naturally strong attack against the mushroom. He had already planted himself in the ground though and had no time to move out of the way of the attack. He would have to take it and attack back with the stored energy. The issue was that the Starly was already on the up-swing after the move and headed right out of reach of the Foongus. That would be ok, he would just change his aim. The Foongus began to glow red after the white energy of the wings hit him. With all of his might he aimed directly above him and released a red beam into the sky, hoping to hit the Starly with his Bide.
Aveta was unsure of what she was watching. She had seen her Starly double itself before beginning his wing attack but somehow she missed it when the Foongus grew quite a few inches and then began to brace itself. The creature was glowing red as a beam of light shot out from his cap and straight into her Pokemon. The trainer tried to refrain from shouting out a warning that was all to late. The Starly himself shot upwards into the air before falling back down. He got his bearings halfway through the fall and started to flap his wings, circling the wild Pokemon and awaiting another command.
It was clear to the woman that her Pokemon was injured, his flaps were faster on one side and on occasion he tilted a little too far to one side and had to quickly compensate with his injured side. Aveta was clueless as to what she was supposed to do. What attacks was he supposed to use? Was there anything that could help him out and grow a little bit stronger so he didn't look as weak? What she needed was a list of his attacks spelled out right before her. Once she got to Crystal City she would surely have to find a library and research her Pokemon. Wait, was there anything in her Pokedex that could help her? She looked at the item still clutched tightly in her hands and began to flick through it until she found a list of attacks that Starly were commonly seen using. She had to plan quickly though. It wasn't like her little bird could forever stay in the air.
A plan began to form as she read a quick description of the moves. If she could bet on anything it was that the Foongus was likely to use that Bide move again. After all, the Pokedex had informed her that it was weak to flying moves and the attack seemed to take the energy the Starly gave and amplify it. Another one of those and they were most likely screwed. "Starly! I want you to growl at the Foongus! Intimidate it! Then use a quick attacking maneuver and get the hell out of there. We don't want to get hit with that attack again!" The Starly looked at her from his circling position and gave a small head tilt. The confidence that was overwhelming Aveta clearly reflected into the Pokemon. He lowered himself closer to the opponent and let out a deep growl as he circled. Without even a moment to blink her eyes, the Starly swooped down, his wings glowing again as he smacked the mushroom upside the head. As soon as the attack had reached it's peak he twisted away, returning to the position he started in, standing at the base of his trainer's feet where he nursed his wounded side.
The mushroom Pokemon stared as his attack hit the bird above him. Success! It really seemed to be injured as it circled overhead. The creature tried jumping up in order to bring it down but nothing seemed to be working. It was after a moment the trainer called out a combination of moves. The enemy Pokemon obeyed, circling lower and growling at the Foongus. The Pokemon ducked, frightened by the creature. He feared the worse, another wing attack straight to the face. And man! Those things hurt. It took everything the little creature had to not cry out in pain the first time. Any movement during his bide would have ruined the energy absorbing. Thankfully he had remained steady. Sadly he knew he could not do it again.
That was when the wing attack came. Straight to the face. The Foongus yelped and grabbed the injured cheek. He knew he could not wallow in pain long. Instead he would have to counter attack, and soon. The creature saw the bird doubling back to his trainer. Perfect. It would be an easy shot. The Foongus let out another astonishing welp, this time, the sound waves began to glow red as the echoed out in front of him straight towards the enemy. Noticing that the mushroom had shrunk after the growl, he began to stretch himself again, slowly growing a few inches in size to what he had been only moments ago.
The Foongus seemed to be injured by the wing attack, this time not choosing to use his bide. Instead, shortly after the attack he used Astonish, something that Aveta was not familiar with. He made a painful sound that began to shoot out waves of red energy straight at her Starly. The bird knew the attack though and was quick to jump out of the way, leaving his trainer wide open to take the attack. The woman's eyes grew wide as she realized there was nothing blocking her from world of hurt she was about to encounter. The speedy little bird saw this and regretted his decision to dodge the attack. Without a second thought he flew into the girl, headbutting her into the ground as the Astonish hit him dead on.
The impact sent the poor Pokemon out of the air and skidding across the ground. Aveta herself was shaken by the entire event and looked to her Pokemon for help. "Are you okay to keep battling?" she asked, concern filling her face. This entire event was supposed to be something that trainers did on a daily basis. How could they put themselves through so much pain by watching their beloved Pokemon injure itself for their safety? The battle was absolute torture. Not to mention she herself had almost suffered an injury.
The Starly nodded his head as he fluttered before her again, once again awaiting orders. His personality was so different in a battle from what it had been when she received him at the lab. Maybe he just knew how serious a battle actually was. Well, it proved one thing. Her Starly knew how to listen and knew how to fight. As long as she only pulled him out for battles she would not have to worry about his pranks and tricks.
Now was not the time for those thoughts and Aveta knew it. The wild Pokemon that was before her was willing to take any openings it saw to hurt them and she had to get it down fast. She scanned the attacks that the Starly had, wondering which ones it knew how to do. The Foongus seemed weak so only a few more attacks would have it beat, especially if she kept using the flying attacks that it was naturally weak against. She knew though that using another Wing Attack would be risky. She had already used it twice and the mushroom probably knew the signs for it now. There was really only one other attack that seemed like a basic maneuver the Pokemon might know how to perform. From the looks of it, it sounded like a flying tackle. "Starly, let's finish this punk off! Use an Aerial Ace!" It was probably risky to only use one attack when the wild Pokemon was about to use two or three but hopefully the attack would do what she intended it to.
The bird took flight, his wings still a little shaky from getting hit twice but he seemed to be doing alright. He flew straight up before diving back down at an angle, aimed straight for the Foongus. It looked like a basic dive so far without so much as a sign that he was about to attack. Where was that Aerial Ace? Then as he was less than a foot away from impact the white lines began to form around the Starly. It had taken some concentration but he finally managed to get the power that he needed right before he was about to slam into the Foongus.
In front of the Foongus, a scene played out. The Starly dodged the Astonish only to double back and move his trainer out of the way of the attack. It was a strange sight to see but in the end the bird was the one that got hit with his attack. The trainer and her Pokemon seemed to take a second to exchange thoughts with each other before the trainer stood and called out her next attack. The little mushroom braced himself, preparing to use another Bide attack. He watched as the bird flew upwards and began to dive down.
In the descent, the Foongus planted himself firmly into the ground, his eyes narrowing in determination. He was planning to absorb the attack and give one final hurrah before the trainer took him out. He was not planning for such a strong hit though. While it took a moment for the Starly to build up his energy, the bird still hit him head on with a powerful, flying tackle. The mushroom could no longer hold on as his world turned to black on impact and he flew backwards.
The Wild Foongus Fainted Would you like to continue?
Aveta watched as the Aerial Ace hit dead on, like it was intended to. It appeared that the wild Pokemon attempted to use a Bide but was taken out of it on impact. In fact, the creature was hit so hard that it was taken out of life itself. The mushroom flew backwards and landed on the ground, completely blacked out from the fight. The trainer looked to her Pokemon with a wise smile. They had successfully taken out their first Pokemon. The Starly returned the grin as he fluttered over to the unconscious body. "Do not touch it. We are going to remove it from the path and carry on," she shouted out as she ran up to where the Foongus was lying.
Aveta personally did not want such a rude creature on her team but it had given her some confidence in her abilities. That little boost made her thankful for the creature and she did not want any harm to come to it while it was not aware of his surroundings. She picked up the tiny creature and set it under a nearby bush, hoping it would be out of sight from any trainers or evil Pokemon that were making their way along the path.
After that little symbol of respect, the trainer turned to her Pokemon. "Are you seriously hurt. I can get us to the city right away if you want but I would like to practice more. I want to be the strongest trainer in the region and I need your help to do that." She knelt down to inspect the Starly. He ruffled his feathers, uncomfortable that he had to be serious outside of a battle for a moment. It appeared that he was still in some minor pain from where he had taken those two hits on his wings. He also refused to fly for some reason. His wings were probably the parts of his body in the most pain and needed some rest before they continued.
The trainer picked up her bird and cradled him in her arms. He struggled against her but still couldn't fly. The best he could do was peck annoyingly at her arms while she walked to the base of a nearby tree. She slid down the trunk of the tree so that she was sitting on the ground before finally releasing the Starly. He hopped away angrily, shaking his feathers and pecking himself clean from where Aveta had been holding him. She rolled her eyes at the Pokemon and pulled out her Pokedex. While they were waiting on the flying-type to regain his strength, she wanted to familiarize herself with as much information as she could. The Pokedex listed the moves, a short description of the Pokemon and a few other things that she did not quite understand.
She thought back on the battle for a moment. His aerial ace had been a delayed attack but was that because he was just weak as the battle carried on or was it because the move was still new to the Pokemon. Aveta guessed she should probably just stick to the beginning moves until they were both stronger. She didn't want to get into a fight and end up calling out a move that would fail or worse, get the Starly injured instead. She read the descriptions of each of the moves that she knew the Starly could do. Wing attack was a powerful one when you were using type advantages but normally a tackle was almost as strong. She would have to remember that when she felt like Wing Attack became predictable.
Her gaze shifted to the Starly that had stopped obsessing over a human touching his feathers and was rather hoping along the ground. He stopped every once and a while and put his head to the ground as if listening. He was probably just looking for worms or something. The woman looked back at her Pokedex. She wondered if he knew what Endeavor was. It seemed like that move would come in handy when they were on the losing side and wanted to level the playing field a little. It might be an interesting strategy to take a few hits while boosting the Starly's stats and then use the attack so that one good hit would take out the enemy... No that was too risky. It would probably end with the bird not being able to dodge the last few attacks and getting knocked out in the process of lowering the enemies health.
Aveta leaned back for a moment. She should just enjoy the moment and not worry about the stress of battle. Granted she did want to be prepared for the next one... She looked at the Pokedex again before shaking her head. No, her Starly was recovering and she needed to do so as well. The encounter had been stressful on her and she needed to not let that happen again. She watched her Pokemon bounce around for a moment before it began to flutter around, testing his wings. He seemed more steady than what he had been going into the aerial ace but it was probably best to wait a little while longer before continuing on the path in search of other Pokemon.
The trainer closed her eyes for a moment, taking deep breaths. Thoughts of her new life crossed her mind. She really was a trainer. She had friends. For the first time in her life she wasn't working. She was unemployed. Granted most people considered being a trainer to be an occupation but there was very little money in it. Everything you made from battling and the likes went back into the Pokemon. It would only be after she was Champion that she would move out of the 'poor' classification and actually have some spare money lying around. She had a Pokemon. It was a Pokemon that liked to play pranks and be sarcastic but at least he could be serious in a battle when he needed to be.
She cracked an eye open to check on her devious bird only to see that he was missing. Aveta jumped up and quickly scanned the surrounding area. She did not see him anywhere until she heard that evil cackle from above her. Looking up, she saw that the creature had flown into the tree above her, clearly enjoying the reaction that she had. The trainer scowled as she started walking down the path, eager to get on with her journey and put as much distance between her and the little incident. Her Starly flew overhead, still laughing about it. "Shut up or I put you back into your Pokeball!" She shouted out. A distraction would have been great at that moment.

Words 1130 --- Note: A 1v1 NPC battle would be nice
"And why would you ever want to do that?" A voice chimed from around a bend, it was thick was poise and circumstance. The kind of voice that was so prim and proper it was almost harsh to listen to. Down the road from the other side of some particularly tall grass a woman came into view. She was rather pretty in a high society sort of way with short brown hair and matching hazel eyes. Late twenties with feathers in her hair, pearls around her neck and a rather extravagant silver party dress on it was clear she was on her way to attend some manner of high class function. A soirée or an evening gala perhaps, yet the manner in which she carried herself suggested she was in no hurry to get there. "A pokemon is meant to be displayed, admired. Not to be locked away." Her voice remained smooth, but was tinged with a note of judgement. Almost as if she were chiding the girl for threatening her pokemon with entrapment.
As if to accent the woman's statement a Furret came running out of the grass. The chestnut haired woman knelt down and allowed it to scurry up her back and perch itself on her shoulder, the creature's tail draping itself around her neck."I am lady Mirabelle, this is my companion Rutherford" She stood up straight and gestured to her Furret as she introduced it. "I am not a proper trainer but perhaps what your feathered friend needs more than a Pokeball is a chance to prove it's worth." She paused and tilted her head slightly as the furret nuzzled her cheek. The two were clearly very close and there certainly wasn't a Pokeball visible on Mirabelle's person unless it was in her small handbag. "If you are keen Rutherford and I would be delighted to engage you and your... quaint Starly in battle." The woman focused her eyes on the girl and smiled politely as her Furret tilted its head and gazed at the other two questioningly. For this pair the thrill of battle did not come often enough. Truth be told they hadn't had a real battle in ages, time simply didn't permit such childish things and battling was frowned upon by high society back home. Perhaps that was why she had come here, to this new place along with so many others. A bit more freedom and acceptance. She didn't plan to make a habit out of it but a friendly battle had never hurt anyone. Right?
It was shortly after Aveta's statement about caging the Starly that a voice spoke up. "And why would you ever want to do that?" The trainer looked around for the source of the voice before seeing a high society lady standing on the path. Her cheeks flushed as she tried to hide face and her worn clothing. Did this stranger know that she was from an orphanage? Was she there to rub it in the poor woman's face about how much better off she was? The woman lifted her head, glancing to the side of the path as the stranger spoke again. Perhaps it was her opinion to have Pokemon on display but the Starly was one that should not have been on display.
Aveta glanced towards the side of the path as a Furret appeared and took his place on his owner's shoulder. "I am lady Mirabelle, this is my companion Rutherford." A lady? Man, she was really dealing with some high society. In her home town those two would have never been caught dead speaking to each other. It would probably cause the lady to lose her title, but this was a different place, a different personality. "I am not a proper trainer but perhaps what your feathered friend needs more than a Pokeball is a chance to prove it's worth." Oh, she wanted a battle? Well, this was probably the perfect chance for the trainer to learn as well as crush one of her distant enemies into the ground. Granted, the lady before her was not the same as the people who always looked down on her and made fun of her all of her life. But hey, it was about to be a symbolic fight of Aveta getting over her old life. She chuckled at thought, no, it was a chance to blow off steam from all of those past experiences where she could not just sucker punch the person making fun of her.
"If you are keen Rutherford and I would be delighted to engage you and your... quaint Starly in battle." Aveta looked to her starter who had landed to her left. She had remained fairly silent for the entire conversation but her Pokemon knew that she was considering the offer. The glance they shared was a silent confirmation that the Starly was feeling strong again and willing to fight. The nod during the second half of the glance only solidified the thoughts they were both sharing.
The trainer looked up at the stranger, a small grin playing on her face. "We will happily battle with you." The new question that began to form in Aveta's mind was if she should take the first move or not. The first move could do a lot for her. It could mean the first hit as well as a sort of status bonus if the Starly used his double team on the way again. At the same time.. No, the first move was the best option. It would give her every advantage that she needed.
The Starly hopped out in front of her, shaking his feathers for a moment in what appeared to be a quick little stretch. He looked back at his trainer, waiting for the first command. The hard part was coming. How was she going to attack? What move would pair best with another move? What was the strength and weakness of a Furret? As long as the strength wasn't speed all they had to do was out run the enemy, right? She guessed she would start the fight with how they took down the wild Pokemon earlier along the path. Though they would use the Starly's moves, not the ones that she had called out. "Starly, double team into a wing attack!" The bird nodded before it sprinted forward, making duplicates of itself as it moved. This time the attack seemed stronger. The mirror images were no longer just blurs of the Pokemon but rather solid images that ran along beside it for a moment, each one closing in on the Furret. The wings of the copies began to glow white as each of them began to jump into the air. The white energy of the Wing Attack shot down onto the opponent before the copies of the Starly took to the sky, circling closely overhead.
"Wonderful." Mirabelle chimed with a clap of her hands as her challenge was accepted. The Lady's Furret crawled off her shoulder and onto the ground. He was no baby anymore but he still fancied himself to be small and light. Two things he certainly was not. Being the narrow shouldered, dainty woman that she was Mirabelle had trouble moving with him sitting there. Once he was fully grown it would be unfathomable. Still, despite his relatively small stature for a Furret, Rutherford was substantially larger than his opponent. He was stronger, larger and perhaps faster on the ground but he couldn't match the Starly's aerial maneuvers which would give the gregarious Furret only narrow windows of opportunity in which to perform his attacks. An ace trainer and their pokemon could exploit this vulnerability easily but Mirabelle was willing to bet that her opponent was not a veteran.
Mirabelle and Rutherford stood their ground as the first attack came. She couldn't help but smile a bit with giddy anticipation as her competitor called out her first attacks. "Oh aren't you a cheeky one." She mused in response to the early double team, Defense Curl, Dear." She called out happily to her Furret. Rutherford wrapped his tail around himself just before the small bird pokemon struck him, not even attempting to dodge the more agile foe. The attack hit him square on and he did slide a little bit backwards from the impact but otherwise seemed unphased. The Starly didn't pack much of a punch but over time it would pile up. The Furret poked his head out from the mass of fur only after the Starly had passed, of course this meant he had lost track of which Starly was the real one. Never the less it was a safe bet that one of the few Starlys closest to him was the proper target. "Quick attack!" Mirabelle declared, knowing that she needed to strike before the Starly would catch up to the rest of it's clones circling above and blend in. With uncanny speed the Furret launched himself forward, running a few steps before leaping upwards. The Furret left a cloud of dust in his wake as he hurtled towards the target, aiming to land a good solid attack before his opponent had time to come around for another attack.
As the Starly's wing attack landed, the Furret curled up into a ball, defending himself. Aveta grimaced, mildly agitated that her attack had not landed quite as successfully as she had hoped it would. It was in the moments that her Pokemon was joining in the circle of the others that the little weasel jumped from the ground in a quick attack to strike the bird upwards. He caught himself in the air, continuing to circle with the others though his weak flapping was a clear sign of which one was real for a moment. The copies began to mimic him, letting him blend in much better.
The trainer narrowed her eyes at her opponent, trying to think of a good next move to perform. She could continue to mimic her previous fight, the method obviously proving effective though the Furret did not seem as phased by the aerial attacks as the mushroom had. That would prove to only be a minor problem though. It just meant that she needed to double her attacking speed as well as pack more of a punch. Tackle wasn't much weaker than her wing attacks and that would add a bit of diversity to her battling that had been lacking the previous battle.
A determined nod by Aveta was followed by a simple command. "Growl down and then tackle." The flock looked at her for a moment before focusing on their target. Each one opened his beak and let a low rumble escape as they stared down the Furret, hoping that they would intimidate the creature into submission. Suddenly, the flock broke their circling formation and flew straight up in the air, situating themselves into a diamond of birds. They began to slowly curve over and after a moment a full flip had been performed, this time with their flight formation aimed directly at the Furret. Each copy as well as the original began to pick up speed as they honed in on the opponent. As more speed was gathered, the wind around them became white streaks until finally the front of the diamond curved back upwards, losing the streaks. It left only the Starly at the center visible with the power of the aerial ace, ready to strike directly into the brown weasel standing by himself.
The Furret recovered nicely as it's quick attack connected with the Starly. The Furret landed with a thud, turning to face the circling Starly's as they prepared to dive. Despite the numbers the birds growl was far from terrifying, uncertain what to make of it the Furret turned to its trainer, unsure how to proceed. "Stay Focused." Mirabelle commanded and pointed at the bird pokemon as it prepared to dive. "Foresight. Fury Swipes" She called, The Furret turned back towards its foe and narrowed its eyes, inspecting the approaching birds. The subtle differences in the clones movement and behavior was enough to give away the real one with the aid of Foresight. The Furret stood on its rear legs, propping itself up with its tail and proceeded to slash at both the real Starly and it's copies as they came in for the attack. The goal was to trade blows with the Starly, because of this the bird Pokemon's attack hit the Furret dead on, sending it tumbling backwards a few times before it dug its claws into the ground and brought the sliding roll to a halt just in front of it's trainer. It shook off the attack to the best of its ability though it did seem a bit disorientated by the hit. Scanning the area in front of it for the Starly the Furret waited to see if its attack had been successful before it would make it's next move.
