"So a Swirlix huh? I don't see why we couldn't help clear them out right? I bet one would be fun to have on the team too." He was fancying the idea of a Swirlix on his team, and evolving it into a powerful Slurpuff. But really he just wanted to help the poor soul who crashed his truck and caused this swarm of Pokemon to invade the Route. "What kinda idiot would tip a truck over on a simple road like this? Guy needs to learn how to drive if you ask me..." Nattousai didn't really know what happened exactly with the whole truck tipping business, but he was going to find the strongest Swirlix of the swarm and capture it for his team. The whole time he was walking, he was talking to his Geodude which he captured not long ago, to better bond with it. The Pokemon floated along not really wishing to be out of its Poke' Ball having to deal with Nattousai and his chatter, it was still somewhat holding a grudge with Nattousai after losing the battle to his Toxicroak and being captured by the Trainer, but it was warming up to him in small doses.
"Still gonna be stubborn huh Geodude?" The Geodude rolled its eyes and let out a bored groan. It would rather sleep than be on a search that could go nowhere. The Pokemon's rough shell and scarred up body would surely intimidate the Wild Pokemon around it, Nattousai knew how reckless and destructive the Geodude could be, for when he caught it the Pokemon was already very experienced and battle hardened, the scarring on its muscles proved that, which is a big reason why he caught it. He didn't want it to deter any Pokemon away because of its tough nature and look, but he chose to have this Pokemon out to train it better rather than have it just rest in its Poke' Ball which it already did plenty of. The two needed to grow together, and this was the perfect opportunity to do it. "We both need to deal with eachother dude, so get used to it. If you wanna be stronger then make the best of this and work with me not against me." The Geodude says nothing, and keeps floating by Nattousai's side, sometimes moving ahead of him as if to have its own space, but Nattousai would keep a steady pace with it to show his willingness to connect with the Pokemon.
"There is a swarm of Swirlix, so really it shouldn't take long at all to find a nice strong one, then we'll catch it and be on our way okay?" The Geodude gives Nattousai a grumble going along with his plan in spite, but thinking back on his point to make it grow to be a powerful contender in the future. It was really only doing this to benefit itself and not its Trainer, it wanted to be the strongest around, and the best in a fight, so it would play along until it reached that peak of performance, and doubted it would fully bond with Nattousai even with so much training between them. The duo went deeper on the path in the midst of their conversation, and the deeper they went, the more sweeter smelling the air got, and the more hungry both of them got for something to satisfy their sweet tooth. Cake, ice cream, candy, chocolate, every delicious dessert and savory snack they could think of popped into their heads, and it was actually quite distracting. Was something extracting a Sweet Scent, or was it from the truck? They would soon find out.

As the trainer and his pokemon rounded they corner they came across the scene. A truck on its side, all manner of sweets and treats spilling from is back doors. A few bystanders stood some distance off, unwilling to get in the midst of so many pokemon whilst they were feeding. Swirlix looked cute and harmless but no pokemon was entirely without danger. Still some distance from the truck and the rest of the swarm a lone Swirlix sat on the path in front of the trainer, it's head entirely hidden in a bag of confections. As it heard the footsteps of the approaching trainer the pokemon removed its head. A myriad of colored shugry bits had died the area around its mouth a veritable rainbow of colors. The pokemon perched atop it's bag of sweets, like a dragon jealously guarding treasure as it barred its small fangs and hissed. The pokemon puffed out its fur to make itself look larger and held its ground, blocking the path forward.
"Jackpot!" Nattousai rejoices when in no time at all, him and Geodude reach the one Pokemon they came to catch and stop, a Swirlix was already present in their path greeting them with a messy face and a greedy hiss. Nattousai was amazed at its stunning fur coat as it puffed itself up and threatened the two. Geodude let out a prideful roar posing with its massive arms trying to intimidate the Swirlix and show it that its fur puffing was nothing compared to his on point flexing and poise. Nattousai was trying to stop Geodude before it became too arrogant and ticked the Swirlix off further. "Geodude, that's enough. Swirlix? Hey little buddy...how are you? Listen, I don't want your sweets you can keep them, in fact I have lots more for you elsewhere. Do you want more?" Nattousai tries to entice the Swirlix with a bribe before spending any time getting into a fight with it. The Swirlix was in a nasty mood, but that's only because it was protecting its grub, and Nattousai understood that.
"How about you come with us, and we will give you all sorts of treats." Nattousai just then realized how wrong that sounded as he did a double take catching himself in a grease ball tactic of persuasion. He didn't know how smart this Swirlix was, but presently, he talked to it as if it was a child or a lost person in need of guidance. He would soon discover whether or not that was a good move. Geodude however was groaning and grunting profusely prone to attack at any second, impatiently floating next to Nattousai letting its adrenaline of encountering a Wild Pokemon start getting to its head. It then began bashing its fists together in rhythm grumbling and growling like someone in the middle of a workout. It wasn't going to hang back much longer, and it didn't much care about any chain of commands Nattousai was going to give, as their bond was not strong enough yet for it to care. Nattousai had to diffuse both the Geodude's impatience and the Swirlix's hungry disdain.
"Geodude, stop." The Geodude cuts an angry look at Nattousai snarling at him with a low, gravely, sound. It didn't like being told what to do, it wasn't used to it yet, and Nattousai kept forgetting this. "Geodude...it's ok. Please remember partner, if a battle can be avoided and peace can be made, we should always choose that option over conflict whenever we can." Geodude didn't understand, it was just increasingly annoyed and turned its back to Nattousai crossing its arms murmuring to itself in an agitated tone. Nattousai bought himself some time, if only for a little while, to soothe the Swirlix and reassure the Fairy Type it didn't want its food or to hurt it. "Swirlix, forgive my Geodude for his lack of manners, but I really did mean it when I said I have plenty of treats for you back in Dizhen City at my home for you to consume, all you can eat in fact! So whatdya say, wanna come along with me and see for yourself?" Nattousai tried to sound as convincing as possible, and if he didn't, and the Geodude already blew his chances at catching the Swirlix without engaging in a battle, Nattousai was prepared for a violent outburst from the furry munchkin.

The Swirlix continued to puff itself out as the trainer talked. It was fine and well to offer sweets, but Swirlix already had some and it didn't see the trainer presenting it with anything better then what it already had. A bird in the hand and all that jazz. The pokemon was more interested in the squabbling between pokemon and trainer. One seemed intent on fighting whilst the other wanted to talk it to death. More importantly, both of them were keeping it from enjoying its pilfered treats. This would not stand. The Swirlix launched itself off its pile of treats at the Geodude, the little ball of sticky fuzz collided with the rock and stuck to it like a piece of gum to the pavement. It's tongue lolling about out as the pokemon sat there, stuck to the Geodude's face.
"GROAR!!" The Geodude screamed out at the fuzzy Pokemon after it tackled the Geodude barely making the Rock Pokemon budge with its fuzzy less than impressive attack. In fact, the Pokemon's fur was so sticky and so soft, it stuck to the Geodude and all it did was make the rock more aggressive and less patient than before. No longer willing to wait for Nattousai's commands, the Geodude begins spinning its body in a miniature cyclone trying to shake the Swirlix off of it using Rock Polish, then once it does this, it swings its large, muscular arm at the Swirlix enraged landing a Smack Down on it whether it was stuck to the Geodude or not, its focus presented itself with easy precision at such close range
"Bad move on your part Swirlix. My Geodude doesn't exactly have the best temper..." Nattousai was really aiming for a non-violent solution to convincing the Swirlix to join him, but that didn't work, actually, it never worked for him yet. Talking to Wild Pokemon and being friendly always ended up just being a bad idea in general and backfiring for the Gym Leader. A part of him wished the Wild Pokemon around the region would be more like his current Gym team, he befriended most of them and it worked out fine with them growing to be loyal and powerhouse Pokemon. But he didn't have as much luck as he used to when he was a younger more energetic youth. "When I catch you little guy I really hope you don't have the temper this Geodude does...." Geodude remains roaring in arrogance and showing off its muscles, if not to Nattousai, for itself in particular.
"I get it, you have a great physique. But really Geodude, I just want to be your friend, and it hurts to keep being ignored like this. You have to see how hard this is for me, don't act like this. I feel like I'm failing as a Trainer and a Gym Leader when you do this to me, and I don't know what to do anymore." Nattousai was pleading with the Geodude to be reasonable, and to work alongside him rather than spite him. The Geodude turns towards Nattousai after striking the Swirlix, and also striking a pose, hearing his worries, and looks at him for but a single moment, touched and longingly, but it fades away quite suddenly, and stops its groaning and flexing if only but to start recognizing Nattousai's concern, and it remained silent awaiting the Swirlix's recovery still being somewhat distant from its Trainer, but something had clicked this day within it, whether it meant listening to Nattousai from now on was unclear, but it was starting to feel something possibly, but not surely...yet.

Rock Polish-->Smack Down
Last Edit: Oct 10, 2015 0:21:23 GMT -5 by nattousai
The rock polish sent the Swirlix tumbling back a few feet. The sticky pokemon jumped back up into the air only to be smacked into the ground by the geodude. As the pokemon was caught between the fist and the ground it was almost flattened. An explosion of pink and white pollen like particles shot everywhere as if the Geodude had knocked the sweet right out of Swirlix. The little flecks hung in the air, giving off a sweet aromatic scent as the Geodude lifted it's fist, this time the Swirlix was stuck to it's hand. The Pokemon once again clung to the hard surface of the rock like Geodude before sticking it's tongue out and licking it. The draining kiss left behind a trail of sugary saliva but seemingly restored some vitality to fuzzball.
A sugary mess of spit slopped all over Geodude and a super sweet aroma of candy and cotton filled the air. A sticky tongue licked across Geodude's ridged frame causing him to shudder in disgust and feeling as though he has lost some of his stamina afterwards. His Smack Down attack did some damage, but it didn't make the Swirlix done for. After trying to strike down the Swirlix, it instead got stuck to his hand like it was made of glue which allowed it to successfully attack Geodude at such a close range with a Sweet Scent and Draining Kiss. Nattousai sees that his Pokemon is now in a pickle, so he tries to once again step in and see if it will listen to his strategic commands. "Geodude...listen to me....use Smack Down to drive it into the ground, and then run it over with Bulldoze to flatten it out completely and get all its sweet juices out of it. That should be enough to allow me to go for the capture afterwards." The Geodude was shaking its hand wildly trying to get the Swirlix off of him, but it stayed put like slime to a wall.
Seeing no other alternative but to heed Nattousai's guidance, Geodude grumbles and drives his fist into the ground sending the Swirlix's body deep into the Earth with a Smack Down attack, and then rolls over its squishy figure kicking up bits of rock and dirt as it does this, with Bulldoze, driving it further and further underneath the ground until it was no longer sticking to the Geodude and became like that of a candy wrapper. After grinding it off of him and probably injuring it beyond belief, Geodude hoists himself up onto the ground's surface after creating a massive crater with his attacks and digging a grave for the Swirlix which was now almost 6 feet below. It slams its hands into the dirt in a taunt and yells out at the Swirlix as if to warn it not to dare get back up. "You actually listened to me Geodude...thank you. But I see you're still overdoing the ego trip." Geodude snaps at Nattousai with a grunt and turns its eyes to the crater still full of life, waiting for that Swirlix to either give up or get up.
"If it doesn't emerge from that pit, I'll be sending a Poke' Ball after it, if it does and I see it weak, I'll still attempt a capture. But know if this Swirlix is added to our team, you better be nice to it after!" Geodude mocks Nattousai with a mumbling trying to sound like his Trainer in a teasing fashion, crossing its arms in carelessness. There was still some defiance in Geodude, but at least it acknowledged that it heard what Nattousai was saying. The Geodude hovers over the edge of the pit, ready to flatten the Swirlix again if it had to. Nattousai had a quivering hand reaching for his backpack, prepared to unleash a Poke' Ball for a capture at just the right moment.

Smack Down-->Bulldoze
Last Edit: Oct 10, 2015 20:20:05 GMT -5 by nattousai
The Geodude pummeled its first, and there for the Swirlix into the ground repeatedly. Perhaps a bit excessive but undoubtedly effective. As the dust settled around the deep crater in the road the now dirty fur of the Swirlix became visible. It floated out of the pit, teetering to the side. The pokemon rolled upside down, too exhausted to remain upright. The dirt covered Swirlix abruptly opened its mouth and let out a gust of fairy wind, the force of the attack sent its spinning and flying backwards like an untied balloon. Crashing into a tree the pokemon stuck to the trunk about five feet up. Hanging upside down it's tongue hung down and for a few moments it appeared as if it had fainted, but a few seconds later it opened its mouth again. This time a spew of rainbow colored fluid full of sweet chunks came pouring out as it regurgitated the excessive amount of sweets it had just eaten. The pokemon was in no condition to continue the battle.
The Geodude's brute strength did the trick. The Swirlix reappears from the pit with no more energy except to land a desperation Fairy Wind attack, and even that didn't go entirely as planned. It forces itself due to such a weakened state, into a tree after its big finale attack. Geodude curls up into a ball seeing the wind start to blow and uses Defense Curl to soak in the damage. The wind attack, though a valiant effort, was not strong enough to do much other than beat against the Geodude's skin. Nattousai covers his face using his arm as a veil to mask the attack, though he is blown back a few feet from the impact. "Alright Geodude, time to catch it." After the wind dies down, Nattousai reaches into his backpack, takes out a Poke' Ball and expands it, then tosses it right at the Swirlix with a heavy throw.
The Poke' Ball flies through the air and clicks against the soft fluff of the Swirlix to capture the stuffed creature. It encloses around it and drops to the ground and starts to shake. Geodude begins to file its nails confident and even egotistical, that it did its job and the Swirlix wasn't going anywhere. Nattousai however remained on edge and attentive to the capturing process, it was a very serious ordeal for him, and he wasn't ever going to take it lightly. To Geodude though, it was just another day, another battle he had to be forced to endure, and it was no different than any other weak Pokemon he faced, except for the Toxicroak, he was still surprised and upset about that, and he would see himself redeemed soon enough. Nattousai could see the discomfort on Geodude's face, the boredom, he could see it wasn't enjoying the thrill of the catch, and this did make Nattousai uneasy, but he still had hope, that he would see this Geodude turn over a new leaf sooner or later.
The ball hit the Swirlix and encapsulated it in red light. As the pokemon struggled to free itself the ball landed on the ground in the puddle of sticky fluid left by the Swirlix. The ball rolled back and forth, the sticky mess clinging to it's surface as it attempted to lock. When it finally did the ball was entirely coated in the rainbow of liquids. He'd caught the pokemon, but now came the hard part. Picking that ball up. The Swirlix would need a bath as well.
After a few shakes, they had caught the Pokemon with no problems. The battle was a bit tedious, but nothing the Geodude couldn't handle, as if in its mind it couldn't handle anything, it very much so believed it could handle anything, and then some. Nattousai kept disliking his ideals, but it wasn't like such a form of thinking wasn't working, so far it did for the Geodude, but one day it would backfire, which is why Nattousai would keep trying to connect with it at every chance he could before it got too full of itself and training would be too challenging and a pointless effort. "GROAR! GROARRR!!" The Geodude pumped its fists into the air in an up and down motion, exhorting tension and stretching its body after the battle to embrace victory and celebrating in its own way. Something else was happening as it was doing this though, the stone Nattousai had in his backpack for evolution began to glow, baffled, Nattousai notices a flashing light in his bag, and opens it up seeing the stone reacting to something, the Geodude's victory maybe? He took it out from the bag and puts it out in front of his face inspecting it, the Geodude turns to its flashing light and the stone burns like fire in the Gym Leader's hands, he drops it after his skin scorches from the touch and it lands on the ground.
"OW! What the!?" Geodude sees it clang to the dirt, and is instantly drawn to it. He heads towards it mesmerized, the closer he got, the more it reacted. He puts a hand around it and picks it up, its whole body then begins to glow a bright white. Nattousai has seen this before, it was the application of a beautiful transformation. "You're...you're...evolving? Already!?! Oh goodness." He already had a feeling since the Geodude was so strong when it was first caught, it wouldn't take much longer before it felt too strong for its own good, and forced itself to evolve. Who knew all it would take was just one more battle? Maybe the stone knew that too, which is why such a reaction occurred. The glowing flashed on and off around the Geodude for several moments until finally one large flash engulfed the rock and vanished. When the light was gone the Pokemon had completely transformed.
"GRAAAV!!!!" Nattousai's once boulder shaped, defiant companion was now a small mountain shaped hunk of sizable rock who may be even more defiant than before. Geodude had turned into Graveler, and with its evolution, the stone turned to dust. It now had four massive arms to flex and an ego bigger than the world. "Gr..Graveler?" The Graveler stared at Nattousai with a furrowed brow as if not recognizing him at first, but then remembers how he had tried so hard to treat it well and with respect. It roars menacingly and then returns itself to his Poke' Ball with no further interaction as a beam of red light fires from Nattousai's bag and sends it back to its miniature home. He was saddened by this, and now had even more work to do to get it to listen, but he was willing to work harder for its affection.
He walks over to his Poke' Ball that captured the Swirlix covered in its own spit and vomit, wipes it off with a rag he had in his pack, and places it with his other Poke' Balls inside a hidden compartment of his backpack. He had done a small service to the distressed truck driver and his Swirlix problem, but the job required him to finish the rest of the swarm off. So he kept going, and if he wouldn't find any other cotton and candy covered nuiscances he would leave, and focus on training the new one he had just caught, as well as keep working on his Graveler's obedience.
A man in a ranger's hat walked up to Nattousai and held out his hand to stop him. "We'll, uh, take it from here." He said. Behind him a Tauros was pulling a large tank with a sprayer attached labeled REPEL. Another ranger sat atop it, preparing it to spray. "Move along, you've done enough." The man said, clearly somewhat annoyed he nodded to the crater in the road before tipping his hat and walking back to his companion and the sprayer. It looked like they had this swarm just about wrapped up. Perhaps it would be best to move along before they decided that someone had to pay for the damage done to the local infrastructure.
The message was clear, Nattousai had failed as a Gym Leader and a Trainer letting his Geodude get out of hand and furthermore, evolve itself in a way, by mistake. Some workers of the Route appeared with a truck full of Repel and a couple Tauros spraying the area to clear it of any more Swirlix. One of the workers only reiterated Nattousai's failure by explaining to him that he's done enough and to move along. Though pained by the comment, it was true, he has done enough, and he needed to move along before causing anymore trouble. "How embarrassing..." Nattousai muttered this to himself and guiltily began walking towards the way in which he came on The Crossroads to leave, never forgetting this day and how much it sucked for him to feel this way. He did get a Swirlix out of it, but it wasn't all going to be a happy memory. He turns to the workers and apologizes before he takes his leave.
"I'm sorry....I didn't mean to do that....thank you for fixing the road." He sounds sincere and waves goodbye, walking away towards the exit of the place and leaving the men to their work. Who knew one Swirlix would be so much trouble and one Geodude would be so exhausting to train? Something had to give, and it wasn't going to just be a one way street. The Geodude now Graveler, would be taught to respect him, and would be taught to do this immediately, he was tired of this kind of thing happening over and over, it was getting old and tedious, the Graveler would learn quickly, or not be used in any battle anymore at all, and that was a choice Nattousai didn't want to have to make, but the only choice so far, nonetheless.
