Nattousai has once again returned to the Route from hell as he liked to call it after having a very rough time here previously. He was going to find that Marowak again, and capture it, not only to have a new member on the team that would make a worthy opponent to anyone, but to also reunite it with the Larvitar he just acquired, and force the two to get along. To have both on his team would make for a worthy and almost unbeatable pair. Out of its Poke' Ball and accompanying Nattousai was the baby Larvitar, happy and full of life after being healed up with a pellet of Poke' Food in its hand that Nattousai had given her. It munched on it in small bites as they walked and took in the sights and sounds of its old home. They would have to traverse back up to the infamous mountain they reached last time to find that Marowak, but to do that they would have to walk through the grasslands and the rocky landscape once more.
"That Marowak has a key ring with some of my favorite trinkets. We just have to reach the mountain and listen for a jingle, it should be easy enough to relocate it." Larvitar looks up at the mountain ahead of them and shudders in fear running behind Nattousai and letting him take the lead as it looks up terrified, holding its food close. "Don't you worry Larvitar, I'm gonna make that Marowak apologize for hurting you and I won't make you fight it if you don't want to. I wanna talk with it first." The Larvitar still shakes as it walks near its new Trainer, not envying the idea of meeting that Marowak again. "Lesson one of being strong Larvitar, confront your fears!" He gives Larvitar an encouraging pat on its head causing it to mumble lovingly. The Larvitar then finishes off its food and smiles signaling a full and hearty belly.
"I'm just glad to see you so chipper and healthy again after that mess we were in with Marowak and your mother..." Larvitar sobs the moment Nattousai mentions her mother, and he scoops it up and puts the Pokemon on his shoulders kissing it on the cheek as he does so. "Don't cry darlin, your mother let me have you for a reason, to raise you into a magnificent Tyranitar like her, and see the world. To love and take care of you forever and ever...and that's what I promise to do. I'll never let anything bad happen to you. I won't." The Larvitar looks at Nattousai worried, but then warms up to him and nuzzles his neck as it rides along on his shoulders and the two traverse the route heading to the mountaintop where the Marowak was.

As the trainer walked with his newly acquired Larvitar a flock of Starly bickered about which way to fly. Some wanted to see what was on the other side of the mountain, others wanted to head towards the coast and eventually the group split leaving only a few behind. These Starley who had choose to stay put quite liked their grassy home and while most of them perched in a distant tree there was one more playful then the rest. Soaring just above the grass with surprising speed for such a little bird the Starly zipped past the trainer, close enough that he could feel the breeze as it passed. Grass bent in its wake as the pokemon flapped its wings and went soaring up into the air, circling the trainer and his pokemon from a distance.
The grasslands were more vast than Nattousai remembered, it was taking him longer than he thought to reach the rockier part of the area. Larvitar looked up and pointed tugging on Nattousai's ear as it rode along on his shoulder and alerted him to a Starly flying high in the sky. The Pokemon was circling the two at a safe distance away which gave Nattousai the impression that it took an interest for whatever reason in him and his Larvitar. "It's such a free spirit...to be able to fly like that, how great would it be Larvitar?" Larvitar smiled and laughed at the idea, excited about the whole mystery behind flight and birds. It even flapped its arms to try and pretend to fly off of Nattousai's shoulder, but he catches her and puts her right back on him. "Well, if it decides to follow us along the Route, I'll know it's looking for a new home and consider it on the team, but for now, let's keep moving. That Marowak is destined to meet us again." Larvitar puts on a serious face and tenses up its arms coiling its fists back as if ready to strike having resentment for that Pokemon after it injured the poor Larvitar pretty bad.
The two allow the Starly to keep flying freely above them as they walk on towards the rougher terrain. Nattousai had no clue if he would come across the Marowak any time soon, but the view in the area was always great. Larvitar was thoroughly enjoying its field trip with its new Trainer and smiling away completely enthused by Nattousai and his determination to find this Marowak. He keeps his ears open for a jingle of his keys the further they go, as does Larvitar. The two weren't really paying attention to anything else or any other Pokemon around them, they would stop and allow themselves to be interrupted if they had to, but otherwise the journey was their goal. "So many wonderful Pokemon in this place, so hard to not want to catch them all..." Larvitar looks around and tries to inspect the surrounding Pokemon, from the Flying Types in the air and the trees, to the Grass Types and many more on the ground and grassy plain. It blinked curiously and was most fascinated. It already knew what kinds were in its old mountainous home further up ahead, and it was slightly worried how oblivious Nattousai would be about the other dangerous Pokemon on the top of this Route.
"It was kinda dangerous the last time I was here, nearly got Toxicroak murdered, but for the most part, I feel like we can make it through the Route this time unscathed, right girl?" Larvitar let out a joyous and inspired yell more than ready for reaching the top of the hill it once dwelled on and facing its old nemesis Marowak once more. So far the duo was safe and keeping a steady pace, but there was no telling for how much longer. Not every Pokemon was nice and calm in these parts or anywhere else for that matter, and it was always a gamble whenever Nattousai was out and about somewhere in the wild to get from Point A to Point B. It sure was hard to start fresh on a new adventure, he felt naked without his Gym Team by his side, but at the same time, pumped up to fashion and strengthen a brand new one. He wasn't going to treat them any differently than his companions back at the Gym, the team he had now was just as important and as special as any other Pokemon he owned, and he was going to treat them all with respect and love no matter what, finding each one of their individual strengths and talents as he goes.

The Starly continued to circle for a while but eventually lost interest and went to rejoin its flock. Everything remained relatively quiet, with the exception of the occasional breeze rustling the grass around the trainer. At first it seemed as though that was the case when a rustle was heard in the bushes behind him, but there had been no breeze. There was nothing to see there, but then a second rustle slightly closer, and a third a bit to the side as if he was being followed by something. After a few minutes of this, and whatever was following him remaining out of sight, the creature at last revealed itself. A Poochyena lept from the tall grass and barred its teeth, puffing its tail out to make itself appear bigger. These pokemon were ruthless, known to follow their target for miles upon miles until it grew tired and had to rest. Luckily they were also known to be cowardly when confronted. They seemed to enjoy the thrill of the chase more than a fight and were fairly easy to scare off in most cases.
Nattousai just couldn't ever be seen as friendly to any Pokemon lately, he was really and truly bad at conversation. At least the Poochyena was still around. Nattousai stops rolling around and stands back on his feet dusting himself off setting his Larvitar on the ground thinking of other ways to keep its attention. He digs into his pockets and pulls out some Pokemon Food and lays it on the ground to see if it was hungry at all. The Larvitar then tries talking to it so it knows the two weren't complete idiots. "I'm sorry if we acted weird, we're just trying to be friendly. Want some food?" Nattousai takes a few steps back allowing the Poochyena to eat if it so desired with the Gym Leader at a safe distance, and his Larvitar also backing up too after trying to persuade the pooch to stay.
"It's delicious, and you look famished." Nattousai stepped back even a bit further to give it more space, but not so far as to not stop it in case it decided to flee. He had one hand tensed up and ready to go to throw a Poke' Ball in case the creature did decide to make tracks, and he was a pretty good thrower. Though the Pokemon was perfectly healthy, it would be a risk to try and catch it undamaged, but he didn't think his Larvitar could stop it with any of its attack at such a young and inexperienced age, and the Pokemon looked fast.
It was either going to take off, or stick around. The duo would love to have it on their team without a doubt, Nattousai favored the idea of having a Dark Type on his team especially after it evolves into a Mightyena. Those Pokemon could be insanely faithful to their masters once fully grown, this little Dark Type though, like Larvitar, seemed young still and had alot of growing to do, but whether or not it would want to grow with Nattousai and his team was to be determined, the decision was entirely up to the Pokemon at this point, and it was looking more like it would take off rather than give Nattousai a chance after his strangeness. But what could he do? If a Pokemon wasn't ready to be tamed, that was something that cannot be debated. The Larvitar began to glow a light brown, faintly so it was hard to see the aura from far away, but Nattousai noticed and was confused at what was happening. The Larvitar was prepping an attack of some sort, as if to provide a backup in case the Poochyena fled. What attack it was or if it would land was beyond Nattousai's guess, the Larvitar was just a baby, how could he know what it could do? But he hoped the dog didn't notice as the Larvitar prepped just behind Nattousai's legs. Nattousai pretended not to notice after a few glances and kept an eye on the Poochyena.

As the trainer rolled about in the grass and generally made a fool of itself the Poochyena was unsure how to react. It rushed forward, then jumped back when the trainer and his pokemon didn't retreat. It preformed these feints a few times until it became apparent that the trainer wasn't actually going to run. The fact that he was trying to patronise the Poochyena by making odd faces and acting bizarre was only making it more uncomfortable. It let out a few yips, trying to elicit some form of response other than lunacy. It knew better than to trifle with the crazy. Crazy people and pokemon were the most dangerous. It took a few steps back, standing almost sideways to the trainer. Still watching it with it's tail puffed out and in the air. The pokemon lingered on the edge of the tall grass, seriously entertaining the idea of fleeing from this maniac.

But he hoped the dog didn't notice as the Larvitar prepped just behind Nattousai's legs. Nattousai pretended not to notice after a few glances and kept an eye on the Poochyena.
The Poochyena was not familiar with the concept of being offered food, but it was used to taking it. From it's perspective it saw the trainer drop some food and after a few quick sniffs it decided this food was worth taking. The pokemon wasn't terribly hungry but it did enjoy the thrill of eating someone else's food right in front of them. It made it feel powerful and in charge. The pokemon took a few steps forward and laid down in front of the food, gnawing on the pellets and cracking them with his teeth rather than simply eating them. All the while keeping a close eye on the trainer and his Pokemon. The pokemon liked to put up the facade of being a big scary tough pokemon, but it was always ready to bolt at the first sign of trouble.
Nattousai watches as the Poochyena chows down. He looks at his Larvitar and whispers to it as it was still preparing an attack. "Hey girlie, it's ok, you can stop, I think this one's gonna stick around after all without a fuss." Larvitar stops building energy to attack and nods calming itself and sitting next to Nattousai's leg feeling a little tired after building so much energy. It now watches the pooch with admiration along with Nattousai, excited to see what was gonna happen next. Nattousai decides to sit flat on his bottom, and try once more at talking to it. The Wild Pokemon had the capacity to listen, it just didn't know what to think. He wanted to change that perspective. "It's yummy right? That fur of yours looks pretty gnarly though my friend. Want a nice belly rub or a comb over? I know after I eat, I love to relax. And it's quite relaxing. See, watch..." Nattousai takes out a comb from his backpack and sifts it through his slick purple hair. He was trying to express to the Poochyena what the tool was for, and that it wasn't a weapon or anything to harm it, but something to help it.
"See?" He then sifts it through the Larvitar's hairless armor and shiny head, it giggles ticklish, but liking the feeling. The Larvitar tells the Poochyena that it feels good and rubs its own belly gesturing that it will help the Dark Type Pokemon digest its food better and soothe it. "Take a look Poochyena, it won't hurt you." Nattousai places the comb on the ground slowly in front of him, and allows the Poochyena to inspect it if it has to before even thinking about using it on the Pokemon. The Larvitar was taking in everything its Trainer was doing, learning about the process and important components of being friendly, and that not everything in this world was about battling and being violent. She liked this feeling, and felt as if she was being taught correctly as if this were an art or a specialty.
"Being nice to Pokemon is always the best thing to do first. Because battling them for a capture can drastically change how they feel about you upon being caught. We don't want it to be scared of us or anything on the team, we want it to trust us, as much as we can before inviting it along." Nattousai whispered this to Larvitar trying to give advice and give it insight on how he did things, so it could have better chemistry with him and the rest of his Pokemon, and also, so Larvitar could be used to help him convince future Wild Pokemon to join his ranks. He was starting to see she might have a knack for this, and was so proud of her growth already that he couldn't wait to see how she did the more they spent time together. He remains locked on Poochyena, seeing if it still found him interesting.
The Poochyena looked dubiously at the trainer and his pokemon. Their antics were still strange to the lone wolf that was this Poochyena. It took a few swift steps backwards, stopping just shy of the tall grass when the trainer reached into his bag and pulled out a comb. It continued to watch carefully but after some time decided to approach. The pokemon approached the comb tentatively and took it into it's mouth. Chewing on it whilst continuing to keep a weathered eye on the trainer. After substantially demolishing the comb it suddenly perked up, becoming even more alert. It looked past the trainer, it's attention fixing on something. A sound that was inaudible to the trainer and his pokemon for the time being. With it's heightened senses the Poochyena was aware that something was out there, and in time the trainer would be to. If he listened closely he could hear it. The faint and distant jingling of keys.
The Trainer happily watches his wild friend take a liking to his comb and chewing it up. That wasn't exactly how it was supposed to be used, and he could easily get another one, so he didn't act too bent up about it. He thought it was rather adorable, and the Larvitar laughed at the pooch's playfulness loving his creativity with the comb's use. But the fun was quickly cut short when upon hearing a sound he never expected to hear at all, Nattousai turns his head slowly to listen to a faded jingle in the distance. This caused the Poochyena to perk its ears up in attention and growl becoming more fiesty and jittery than before, all the great progress Nattousai had made with it had possibly just been thrown out. Nattousai knew that jingle, he knew it very well, it was his keys, the Marowak was near, his hunt was soon going to reach its climactic end.
Larvitar too, began to growl at the distant jingle. This Pokemon wanted its revenge more than anything else, and wasn't going to be fully content until it got it. But what was Nattousai going to do? He was in the middle of trying to acquire this Poochyena on his team, and if he ignored the sound and didn't pursue its direction, he would lose the Marowak in a flash and may never get a third try finding it again, which would upset his Larvitar immensely. He didn't want to lose sight of this Poochyena either. So he came up with the only plan he could think of. He turned to the pooch, and kneeled on one knee, and began to give it his sincerity, grasping the subject of pathos to persuade it to join his cause. He had no other ideas. "Poochyena, we just met, and you think me very strange, but I know what that sound over there is, it's the sound of a misunderstood Pokemon that bullied my poor little Larvitar here." Nattousai points to his Larvitar in a supportive gesture. The Larvitar explains to the Poochyena everything he was saying, and how the Pokemon making the jingle had taken its Trainer's things and attacked it aggressively.
"And we need your help to get my keys back and teach it a valuable lesson. If you want me to think you're tough, and you want to really scare me with your power, will you help us find it and give it a good scare? I mean, it is in your territory, this is YOUR land right? You're the head dog in charge!" Larvitar was relaying all of Nattousai's words to the Poochyena, the Trainer and his baby Pokemon were both doing their part to pump it up and get it to go along with them. "I have more combs too you can chew on!" Nattousai points to the comb on the ground, then to his backpack, he would get more from his Gym later for the dog Pokemon to nibble since it liked it so much. "And ofcourse, more food too." Nattousai takes out more pellets of Pokemon food just to show he had more, then puts it back in his pocket. The Larvitar starts cheering the Poochyena on to come along and help them go after the Marowak up ahead, Nattousai and Larvitar don't move until the pooch was certain it wanted to come along, but the two still had a leg arched ready to take off to sprint after the Marowak in case the sound faded.
Unless another Pokemon had found his keys and took hold of them...but how likely was that? Or maybe it was just a Pokemon that made jingling key sounds. Klefki? Chimecho? Now all these thoughts rushed to his head, he didn't want to be wrong and lie to his Larvitar or the Poochyena, but he had a funny feeling he would be right.
The Poochyena barked in response to the Larvitar's translation. It was right, this was it's land. It was the big cheese here and no one would be jingling except it. Whatever was making that noise, the Poochyena wanted it. The pokemon took off into the grass towards the sound, running like the wind. The trainer couldn't possibly hope to keep up with the swift pokemon but the sound of its barks and the trail it blazed through the grass would be easy enough to follow. The question is what it would find when it arrived. Would the Poochyena be waiting at the end of the trail, or the Marowak. Perhaps both, or maybe neither. Nothing was ever simple on route seven.
Nattousai wondered if maybe he should have been more careful with his wording, the Poochyena was just a little too hard headed running off into scouting out the noise like that. With no time to lose, Nattousai began running after it, following the trail it was leaving behind. Larvitar jumped in shock and started darting into a run beside its Trainer, trickles of sweat leaving its face as it went. It stumbles over itself though at one point, tripping over its feet, but Nattousai scoops her up in mid run and throws her on his shoulder. He wasn't an athlete, but he could run at his weight and size. "We....*huff*....gotta keep up...*puff*" He ran like a mad man after the Poochyena, the jingling noise wasn't that far away, so he didn't think it would take that long to catch up with it. Larvitar, with a determined sneer, wishes to try its hand at running on its own again, and jumps off Nattousai's shoulder landing on its feet and keeps a matched pace without trouble. Nattousai was impressed.
"You're getting stronger. *huff puff* A sure sign of healthy growth." He smiles as he runs, chasing the Poochyena into the rocky area ahead, and Larvitar is still keeping up admirably. The little dog was surely fast though, not slowing down at all for the two, but still maintaining a trail to follow. "It...*huff* must still be on the fence...*puff* about joining us." Nattousai was not going to give up this chase or on the Poochyena, but if there was another Wild Pokemon on the horizon, the Gym Leader and his team would have a predicament to deal with. He would have no idea how to capture the Poochyena if it was going to get itself fainted in a battle with another Pokemon that wasn't his own. It might even run off again, this time farther than they would be able to catch it. The Larvitar believed in Nattousai though, and it wouldn't give up either, it would find that Marowak, and prove to itself and its Trainer that it could stand its ground.
"I'm sure we...*huff* gotta be almost there...*puff*." The Poochyena may have already encountered the Marowak and found the noise maker, it could even have run off and changed its mind in another direction, Nattousai couldn't tell, he couldn't see that far ahead, he just followed the paw prints and the path the Pokemon left. It may or may not soon fade away, and the search may or may not lead to a disappointing abrupt end. The team kept their wills alive, and stayed the path to see what they'd find, but it wouldn't be too much longer before they both ran out of energy to keep time with a four legged fast moving creature that has been known to be able to run for hours on end.
The trail lead to a rocky outcropping just at the edge of the grass. An area where the the ground was dirt, stone and the last vestiges of hearty grass. The Poochyena was nowhere to be seen but directly in front was a familiar looking Marowak basking in the sun. From the nose holes of its skull dangled the keys. The sound of the approaching trainer caused it to sit up, jingling the keys as it studied the new arrivals for a second. It recognized them immediately and picked up its bone. Standing tall the Marowak hurled it at the Larvitar. This pokemon did not forget, and it did not forgive even the slightest transgressions. The bone spun through the air at the trainer but a streak of grey intercepted it. The Marowak turned its head to stare at the Poochyena which had returned and was now standing off to the side, gnawing on the bone it had caught. The pooch had its eye on this bone for a long time now, but had never been brave enough to take it before. Once it had identified the source of the jingling it had decided to hide in the bush and bide it's time. Emboldened by the presence of the trainer and his pokemon. If they could get rid of the Marowak then the Poochyena could keep the bone and not have to worry about being chased about his own home by the big bad key wearing Marowak anymore.
The group had finally reached a halt to their running, the Poochyena's trail ended, but it wasn't a Poochyena they had ran into, it was an old familiar face. The Poochyena was nowhere in sight. Silently Nattousai and Larvitar collect themselves, realizing now that the moment of truth was here, the looks on their faces were expressions of amazement and disbelief, they actually found the bone wielding behemoth again, and she was just as intense and aggressive as she was before. But before the two could properly react, a bone flung at them like a boomerang, aiming to smack the Larvitar, they were too caught up in taking in the moment of actually seeing the Marowak again they didn't notice the attack firsthand. The peppy little poochy from earlier however ended up being by the Trainer and his Larvitar's side after catching the bone in mid-air and landing on the ground with it keeping it for itself and gnawing away with it in the grass, while sticking around to ensure the Marowak problem was dealt with.
"Well I'll be dang....that little guy really saved us just then, and is even hanging around for the fireworks. Stay put there poochie, and thank you for your help, don't worry, we'll take care of this old fossil." Nattousai takes out his Poke' Ball and was about to send out Toxicroak to take this Marowak down. "Go Toxi-" But Larvitar tugs its Trainer's pant leg as he looks down to see its face red with steam and rife with enthusiasm to fight. Nattousai was worried at the gesture. "But, it's too powerful." Larvitar shakes her head no, and refuses to let him think that, refusing to back away from this fight and wanting her revenge. It then began to glow a light brown again, this time more noticeably, and begins showing Nattousai signs of ability. "I think I know what attack that is now...alright girl....if this is what you want....show your stuff!" He points to the now boneless Marowak making this a more fair fight than before, giving the Larvitar a chance at victory. "Use Leer, and then Rockslide!" While still glowing, the Larvitar shoots a benevolent stare at the Marowak sending nauseous waves of copious energy at it, then when its glowing was at its brightest, it yells unleashing an avalanche of sharp rocks showering down upon the Marowak right over its head.
"That's it Larvitar! That's showin your stuff!" The Larvitar after it was done was dangerously out of breath though, and panting erratically, as if using too much energy in its little body in that first turn. "Are you ok? Do you want Toxicroak to switch in?" Larvitar looks at Nattousai and shakes her head no, she was still going to fight, for this was her battle, and she needed to show she had the guts to take the enemy on. "Alright...if this is really what you want. You're doing great so far, I'm so proud! Just keep in mind that the Marowak has you pegged in all general categories of ability....if we're gonna win this, we need to win this off of wit and will power....I believe in you buddy." Larvitar was on the same page with Nattousai, knowing its chances of winning were slim to none, but if it could just outlast the Marowak, if it could just show the Marowak it had heart and it could stand up for itself maybe it would stop bullying it. The Larvitar was a tough cookie, and she was going to stay on task and defend itself until it couldn't any longer, it had something to prove, and it needed a chance to do it.

The Marowak jerked its head in disbelief as it's bone was intercepted. It glared at the Poochyena and took a few steps towards it, the keys jingling as it did. However a timely attack from the Larvitar interrupted it's attempt to get the bone back. There was no way such a runt would best it in combat, and in its arrogance the Marowak lowered its guard for a second. As rocks came tumbling down towards it the Pokemon turned to face them, jumping over most of them. It landed skillfully and braced itself as the remaining few rocks closed down on it. As the dust settled the Marowak stood atop one of the boulders, tensing up it focused its energy. It's muscles quivered and its eyes became sharper and more focused as it primed itself to strike until all at once it reached the apex of its power. The Pokemon tensed then launched itself off the bolder. The sheer force behind its jump was enough to crack the rock it had been standing on but there was no time to admire the strength of the attack as the Pokemon hurdled towards the Larvitar head first.
Oh crap...come on man, think think think!Just one of those would ruin my poor Larvitar. The Marowak bounced around that Rockslide like it was nothing, but thanks to the Poochyena's distraction, Larvitar was at least able to hit it, and the good thing was it still didn't have its bone. But the Headbutt was rushing at his Larvitar like lightning, and he still wasn't entirely sure what moves it knew so young, he was shocked a Leer and a Rockslide worked. He took a chance, and shot in the dark with his next command with some strategy implemented in this time. "Larvitar, use Screech quickly to soften the blow of the Headbutt and let the sound of your voice weaken the impact!" Larvitar heard Nattousai and let out a shriek of terror, but it did very little. The Screech move slowed down the Marowak's speed slightly, but the attack still hit its mark. Larvitar was sent propelling backwards and crashed into the side of a cliff behind it.
"NO! Larvitar are you ok!?!" The poor young Larvitar squirmed and writhed after being blown back into rubble, damaged and scraped from such a hit, but it muttered a small cry, and like a band-aid ripped from the skin, it peels itself off the rock wall it left a sizable hole in, and struggles back to its feet. It takes a moment, but it is able to stand despite things, and focuses itself eye balling the Marowak with a grimace and a cutting glare of perseverance. It wasn't done yet. It gives a sign to its Trainer that it wants to keep going, sounding off to him in preposition. "Larvitar? You REALLY still want to do this?" The Larvitar wasn't more sure in its short life of anything than now, and reeled back its arms in an amped poise in position for the next move.
"Fine then. Larvitar, let's see if that Screech and Leer from earlier helped lower its guard any. Use Chip Away, aim for the same speed and impact as that Headbutt was!" Larvitar gave a nod, and pinged itself off the rock wall it hit previously, using it for extra propulsion power to smash the Marowak's skull it wore with a closed fist Chip Away attack heading in a straight line right for it. That Larvitar is full of heart...I knew that young one was something special when I saw it in the wild....the sooner that Marowak recognizes it, the better off it will be getting along with the Larvitar on the team after this is all over. Nattousai didn't think the Larvitar knew completely that Nattousai planned to catch the Marowak, but he was going to try. He needed that kind of talent and ability on his team, and when the Larvitar was grown up, the Marowak could prove to be a valuable teacher.
The Marowak landed after a successful attack, watching as the Larvitar struggled to continue the fight. It smirked behind its skull, its eyes however remained focused. Despite the other Pokemon's best efforts it could do little to combat the seasoned veteran. Not only was it more experienced, more skilled, but it had a type advantage verse most of its enemies moves. Even without its bone it saw no chance of failure. As the Larvitar launched itself at the Marowak the hard headed pokemon braced itself for the impact. It's foe had drawn inspiration from it, but it was an imperfect copy of a technique. The Marowak braced for the attack and when the Larvitar's blow landed the Marowak used the opportunity to grapple with it. The pair slid backwards and the Marowak locked eyes with it's opponent. Leering at it as it attempted to grab the other pokemon and fling it into the ground.
Chip Away barely did a thing to hurt that Marowak! It might have just made it that much more determined to mince the Larvitar into bits and pieces. Nattousai watched as the Marowak grabbed his friend and attempted to smash her into the ground with a fling attack after lowering it defense. Though it's guard was down, Nattousai had a clever idea; he was a Gym Leader after all, they have those from time to time. "Larvitar, you don't let go of that Marowak when it flings you! Hold on to its arm with all your strength, and then open your mouth and Bite it right in its flesh, puncture the skin and make it hard to grab you again. We got her right where we want her!" Larvitar smiles with a sinister snicker, and chows down on the Marowak's arm just as it tried releasing her into the ground and thinking it had the advantage. "Again you silly Marowak....wits...and will power...you'll learn sooner or later." He mocked the Marowak under his breath after its attack didn't go as planned and then commanded Larvitar once more.
"While you still have your teeth around its skin firmly, use your resilient attitude and give that Marowak a nasty look right back with another Leer!" With its teeth still clenched to Marowak's arm, and no bone to bash it off, Larvitar cut Marowak a devious gaze, with no fear, no hesitation in it eyes, only bravery, only revenge on its mind. The Marowak must think the little Pokemon insane, especially as it fought back so tenaciously than before. With Nattousai by its side it was as if it found a new purpose, and a fire was lit under its belly, it was energized and revitalized to be something, to feel something, and to fight for something. This Marowak became its rag doll as it sunk its incisors and sharpest fangs right into the arm, digging deeper and deeper the longer it held on. Perhaps it was picking up something it learned from the Poochyena gnawing away in the grass. Whatever the reason, it was effective so far.
"Keep it up! Its defense is just about at its lowest now after all that hard work sapping its stamina. That Bite attack should really hurt it." Though Nattousai knew the Marowak was clearly stronger by a mile, he still wanted the Larvitar to believe it had a shot, a chance at this. But the moment Larvitar would be down to its last leg, Nattousai would switch out the Pokemon with his Toxicroak and finish the job. He already gathered the Larvitar would probably take offense to this gesture, but he'd rather do this than watch it be torn apart in such an uncanny manner by the merciless Marowak. His only other alternate option, but a strange one seeing as the Poochyena hasn't been captured yet, was to ask the Poochyena to take over the reigns and try to take over the battle. Nattousai would try to command it, but being as its wild, it probably wouldn't help any, but if he sent his Toxicroak out it may startle the dark dog and send it fleeing. These were options for later though, he needed to focus on the present, and getting his Larvitar to win this fight somehow, in whatever way he could.

As the Marowak hurled the Larvitar it bit down onto Marowak's arm. They both tumbled to the ground and wrestled about abit, vying for position. This carried on for a bit, both of them rolling abound until the Marowak grew tired of it. The pokemon picked itself up and grabbed the Larvitar, running full speed it charged headlong towards a rock. The pokemon did it's best to keep a grip on the Larvitar and place the pokemon between itself and the rock as it aimed to slam into it in a brutal double-edged slam.
