The Larvitar was tightly lock jawed on that arm of the Marowak but the Marowak wasn't going to let it hang there. It took the Larvitar down with it into the dirt as the two wrestled to the ground just as they did when they had first met. The Marowak then got an upper hand, as it also did when they first met, and began dragging it in a sprint towards a nearby boulder to smash its body against it with a Double Edge attack which would hurt severely. The Larvitar was part rock, and it was a normal type attack, so it may survive it, but only by a hair. Having flashbacks from the short time ago it was in this same dangerous position where it was going to be beaten to shreds, the Larvitar suddenly got a burst of energy, refusing to relive that same moment. "Larvitar, don't let it defeat you again!!" The baby quickly growing into its abilities, braced itself for impact and was driven spine first into the rock at a bone crushing angle.
It tried making itself smaller in a fetal position, clinging for dear life on the Marowak's arm to soften the blow, but nothing could relieve it from the pain it was just now feeling. The boulder shattered into bits and pieces and the Larvitar crashed to the ground in a mangled mess of skin. It coiled in shivering agony twitching and flinching in a crippling rhythm within the soil. The Pokemon had been pulverized into mash and possibly given its last breath in this fight. "Larvitar, are you alright?!!" It says nothing for several seconds, it seemed like forever. In its silence, Nattousai took out its Larvitar's Poke' Ball about to send it back with a sickened glazed over look despising the Marowak's violent sentiments, but just before he does, the Larvitar mutters a cry, signaling no. "Larvitar, this battle is over. It's time to rest now you did great, don't feel bad, I can't let you be mutilated like this." The Larvitar cries out even louder, and scratches at the soil in a daze, struggling to rise to its feet, and also to the occasion. It takes it awhile, but the Larvitar is able to stand up, and begins glowing a violet hue.
"What's this?" Its faint cries turn into growling and stares at the visceral Marowak with enmity. The hostility between the two was overly present, more than it has been before, this had to end with someone the victor between them, to settle this rivalry and be done with it. Once the violet hue was nice and bright, the Larvitar raised a talon in the air, and swiped it downwards unleashing a barrage of dark orbs at the Marowak that got bigger as they flew through the air and sent them flinging at it in a broadened web of darkness. "That's Payback! Wow I'm impressed!" The Larvitar then planted its feet into the ground and it began to shake. It tried focusing all it had left within its tiny vessel to cause an Earthquake and bring the Marowak to its knees. "Larvitar, don't. You'll faint from the attempt, you're not well enough!" The Larvitar wanted to listen to Nattousai, but it was losing control of its energy, the attack was already set in motion. After it was done creating the Earthquake and cracking the ground beneath the Marowak and after the Payback attack, it collapsed to its belly and fell in the dirt face first, shutting its eyes with nothing left to offer in this battle.
The Marowak picked itself up off the ground as it started to shake, the pokemon staggered a bit as it struggled to keep its footing. The earthquake sent shockwaves through it's body as it rode out the quake. To the side the Poochyena dropped the bone and stood up, startled by the abrupt shaking. It took a few steps back as the Larvitar fell to the ground. With one challenge subdued the Marowak turned from the trainer and faced the thieving Poochyena. It approached, one had clutched the bite on its shoulder. The key's jingled with each shaky step as it closed the distance to is bone. The Poochyena stood its ground, barking at it but the closer the Marowak got the more the Poochyena's resolve seemed to falter.
Bested by the Marowak at its last capable gasp, the Larvitar bears all in attempting to defeat it with a Payback and an Earthquake attack but it still wasn't enough to dispose of it. It was now time to withdraw the Larvitar and let it rest, even if it wasn't completely passed out, it was in no shape to keep going. "Larvitar, you did an amazing job, thank you, so much. You're stronger than you know....return." Nattousai calls back his Larvitar as a red beam of light sucks it up back into the Poke' Ball. It lets Nattousai send it back without a fit. "Alright Poochyena, I know she seems scary, so let me help you finish it off. Don't let this next Pokemon startle you pup, it only means well to help you get rid of this Marowak. GO, TOXICROAK!" With a flick of his wrist Nattousai sends out his Toxicroak's Poke' Ball and the second it left his hand the frog Pokemon was already on its way out and landing on the ground, beyond eager to fight. It groans menacingly, staring at the Marowak in malice.
"She hurt our good friend Larvitar Toxicroak...and that's unacceptable. So lets show her what happens to a bully. This Marowak is going to turn to fodder! Toxicroak, end this quickly, Sludge Bomb, and then use Mud Bomb, go!" The frog, at full health and refreshed with bountiful energy surging through it, bubbles up a purple liquid from its gullet sloshing it into its mouth and then spewing it at the Marowak in a giant sphere of poison at an accelerated rate. Before the Marowak could dodge or react to much, the Toxicroak utilizes its great speed and crafts a muddy circle of sizable pain in its right hand, and then chucks it at the Marowak's face using Mud Bomb. "I hope you know how to heal poison sickness Marowak...it's not fun." The Marowak ofcourse had a resistance to Poison to an extent, but it wasn't entirely invincible to it, knowing this, Nattousai took the chance, and hit with a doubled super effective attack on top of it to ensure the factor of pain was still there.
"I really thought you would be a sport and be nice to that Larvitar...heck...to me. And just apologize, but you had to be a jerk...oh I can't wait to teach you some respect." Nattousai was more fired up than ever with a fresh Pokemon out to dispose of this Marowak and the Poochyena not too far away, if he played his cards right, this would be the first double catch he'd ever have achieved. "Poochyena, this Marowak will no longer be a problem very shortly here. I hope you stick around and we can celebrate together!" He tried enticing the Poochyena with a friendly chat to get it to stay, it was the only thing he could do while he was preoccupied, but if it ran, that was it, he wouldn't be coming back to find it like the Marowak on this route anytime soon....
As the Poochyena retreated the Marowak stepped forward and picked up its bone. The Larvitar had been no match for the more experienced pokemon but as always fighting had took its toll. Resting its bone on its shoulder it glared at the Poochyena, ignoring the trainer as the second pokemon came out. The sound of the incoming attack drew its attention, barely managing to shield itself with its bone club the toxic sludge splashed across it's skull helmet. The Marowak shook its head and wiped its eyes, regaining its vision just as the mud bomb impacted it. The pokemon went tumbling backwards. Bracing itself with it's bone it tried to strand and continue the fight but collapsed into the dirt shortly thereafter, unable to continue. As the dust settled the Marowak lay unconscious on the ground and the Poochyena was unfortunately nowhere to be found. In the distance the grass could be seen swaying as something ran through it. Likely the pooch but it was already some distance away and seemed unlikely to come back. It was likely the new pokemon which had startled it, or the Marowak taking it's bone back. Perhaps it had even been the Larvitar's earthquake. Either way such a skittish pokemon wasn't likely to hang about through such an encounter.
The Toxicroak was able to catch the Marowak by surprise with its bombardment of moves and extinguish it for good. The bomb like attacks splattered across the Pokemon's face both times, directly crashing down upon it in perfect precision. The Marowak looked like it was going to keep fighting for a split second, but instead, it just keels over, defeated. Unfortunately Nattousai's longing for capturing that Poochyena as well and the two birds, one stone logic was not in the cards, just like last time when he failed to catch the Larvitar and the Marowak at the same time, the pooch just didn't want to stick around. He expresses an upset reaction at his failed hopes, but only for but a moment. There was victory in all of this after all, and the mean old Marowak was vanquished.
Toxicroak tries cheering Nattousai up with a pat on the back and a smile. He comforts his Trainer as Nattousai gets his act together and takes out a Poke' Ball. "Well, the Poochyena got away, but this Marowak is as good as mine. It will be an awesome addition to the team, and I will help it grow to be much more kind to others. We will turn this bully into a buddy." Nattousai cranks his hand back and throws the Poke' Ball at the exhausted Marowak while it encompasses the creature and vacuums it up within itself. The ball begins to go through the motions of a capture, and Nattousai waits for the verdict.
"Poochyena....maybe I will see you again some day....if it's meant to be it will be." Nattousai comes to terms with losing the pup, and puts a hand on his Toxicroak's shoulder. "Thanks for tryin to cheer me up buddy. Now lets see if this Marowak is ready to go with us." He looks back at the Poke' Ball waiting with great anticipation as it wiggles and rolls for the Marowak's seizing. A powerful new companion was just seconds away now, and soon, Nattousai's team would become that much more compelling and a balanced concoction of talent and ability.

Despite being exhausted the Marowak managed to put up a decent fight. The ball pitched and rolled, even bouncing a time or two as the pokemon wrestled to get free but eventually it locked, trapping the Marowak inside. It had a good thing going here on the route, food, shelter and no one really bothering it. The Marowak was top dog so to speak. It would not be happy with it's impromptu constriction onto the trainers team. Not to mention that with the Marowak gone there would be a large power vacuum on the route. Other pokemon would try to cease it's territory, they would fight and eventually one would win but the pokemon would be restless around here for some time to come.
Nattousai watches in relief as he sees the Poke' Ball click closed and the Marowak become captured. It was one of his toughest fights yet and he somehow came out on top. His Larvitar helped tremendously with the battle and his Toxicroak picked up the leftovers. Nattousai walks over to the Poke' Ball and picks it up giving it a long stare. "You will like it with me...I promise, Marowak." He went through quite the trouble for this Pokemon, and now that she was his, he would treat it respectfully and equally just as he does his other Pokemon, it will be a struggle raising it, as is with his Graveler, but the two of them with similar chemistry could really help cancel eachother's anger out. And the Larvitar being on the team with Marowak will also be an amazing feat to work with. The goal was to forge a team of unlikely allies that end up working extremely well together in the end, and he has accomplished stage one of this, now it was just getting them all to get along and listen to him.
Toxicroak stays by Nattousai's side as he relishes in his victory and stashes away the new Marowak's Poke' Ball in his bag. The Toxicroak looked a bit worried however, having not one, but now two difficult Pokemon to train on his team. It was familiar with the stubborn Graveler being a bother to Nattousai and his training regime, but now it would have to try and feel out the Marowak and its level of willingness to be taught and trained with Nattousai and the team. The Toxicroak had been the sensei so to speak of the whole team, if it could help Graveler through its stubborn ignorance, it was ready and willing to help the Marowak through hers as well. Toxicroak knew his best friend and master Nattousai would need all the help he could get through this challenging training routine, and he rubbed up against Nattousai in reassurance that it was there for him whenever he needed.
"It'll be alright Toxicroak, everything will work out. Hmm...I wonder though...." Out of curiousity, Nattousai walks over to the patch of grass the Poochyena ran through when it fled and focuses his eyes on the path ahead to see if it had left another trail to follow, but he saw nothing. "We will wait one more moment to see if it comes back Toxicroak....and if it doesn't, we will take our leave appropriately." Nattousai stands calmly in the smooth blades of grass searching every which way he could in a still position for that Poochyena, while also keeping an ear open as well. Toxicroak was also keeping completely still and helping Nattousai with a careful lookout for the little black dog. It may be a useless attempt, but one last once-over couldn't hurt anybody in Nattousai's mind.
Earlier today this Shuckle had come under attack by a Fearow. Tucking itself into it's shell it had remained safe but the bird pokemon had carried it far from the mountain on the horizon that it called home. Now it slowly made its way back towards its mountain, dragging itself through the grass. It meandered past the trainer, it's legs moving it forwards as it's head swiveled about. It was sure to keep its beady eyes on the trainer but the turtle like pokemon didn't seem concerned enough with by his presence to adjust its curse.
"Ooo...a Shuckle. What a rare occurrence." He hasn't seen one of those creatures in quite some time. Upon his waiting it presented itself sluggishly through the grass. The poor Pokemon looked hurt though, and not very enthusiastic to be near a Trainer right about now. The Toxicroak's heart ached for it, seeing it so pathetically drag itself the opposite direction, probably to try and escape its Trainer, and probably to try and retreat somewhere safe from other Pokemon as well. "Darn, I don't have any food or medical supplies to make it better right now. I used up all my Pokemon food on that Poochyena. And I didn't think to bring medical items....that was stupid of me." Toxicroak looks on at the Shuckle sadly and pitifully. It couldn't really do anything either. But this was the risk of living in the wild, it was part of the circle of life, it was part of nature's ecosystem. There was a food chain, and also the theory of natural selection and dominance. Whomever was on top of it all could handle themselves, whomever was on the bottom and not able to protect itself from the dangers around them, or feed themselves because of weakness and lack of intelligence, they would surely fall.
"Come on Toxicroak...let's start heading back. The more we look at the little critter, the worse we feel. Ain't nothin we can do partner." Nattousai begins turning his back to the Shuckle and starts heading back the way he came to leave the Route. Toxicroak remains where he was, standing with a strong desire to help the Shuckle looking at it from a distance feeling its pain. Nattousai urges his Pokemon to leave it be. "Toxicroak, there is nothing we can do. Please, let's get going. I'm sure it'll be ok." Nattousai says this and continues his exiting, eventually, though not wishing to, the Toxicroak listens to Nattousai, turns its back to the Pokemon and walks with him to head back to Dizhen City. The Shuckle would be left to survive on its own, and fair the harsh conditions of the place and by some miracle hopefully survive the predators that lurk around it and within the area. It wasn't something Nattousai nor any of his Pokemon had control over, it was all up to the Shuckle and the Pokemon inhabiting the location to stay healthy and safe.
Just before the path that lead back to the city a faint digging sound caught the ear. In the dirt just to the side of the main route a solitary Nincada dug at the base of the grass, digging up roots so that it might leech nutrients from them. As the trainer neared it the pokemon turned and stared at him with it's strange little eyes as most bug pokemon tended to do. It was hard to gauge what it was thinking but bug pokemon could be found everywhere and they were usually more annoying than they were dangerous. No one paid them much mind.
With only returning home on his mind and getting some food and a nap after his long battle with Marowak, Nattousai wasn't thinking he would run into another Pokemon. He figured it would just be smooth sailing down the rest of the Route, but he was wrong. A Shuckle appearing was nice, but a Nincada showing up on the way to the exit was nicer. If he could catch all the Pokemon along the Route he would, but he had very limited Poke' Balls and even less time to track and capture them all with his Gym job constantly calling his name. He considers capturing the little bug after staring at it a moment and thinking about what it could become, but he just doesn't have the strong desire for another fight or to spend the time and energy to talk it into joining him, he was beat and he just wanted to head back."Nincada? I just keep running into these hard to find Pokemon don't I. I'm sure it would be utterly valuable as a Ninjask or Shedinja. Ninjask for speed, Shedinja for all those type resistances. But....it's not a Pokemon for me..." He hated saying such a thing, but it was true. A Bug Type was not his forte, and he didn't particularly favor their tendency to crawl all over a person or creep around personal space.
"A pity to pass it by, but Toxicroak, my day has been long enough. We can let this one slide." Toxicroak could see the exhaustion in Nattousai's face, and the Nincada looked just fine where it was and in no particular danger or expressing interest in tagging along with the Gym Leader and his group. There wasn't a reason to take it away from its home, and the two were almost through with their trek along the Route now. Nattousai looked up at the sky and could see the day was going by before his eyes. Living the life of a Gym Leader was a tough job, and you were always on the clock, not to mention the endless caring he would provide for his Pokemon back at the Gym and on his new team. He could never neglect even one of them for long, he cared too much for them and he would always make time to bond with each one individually, even the more stubborn and problematic ones. The efforts of connecting with each one wasn't useless, at least not to him, and he would always see a closer relationship with each one after awhile and after enough quality time. But now he needed to rest and relax after a hard day, and see to it that Toxicroak gets his rest too. They walk by the Nincada and continue their leave.
