Daniel had taken a right turn about an hour ago onto a grassy path. His pokemon in their balls as he was told the area was dangerous. All except for his infant electrike.
As adorable as she was, she was also all over the place. Having hatched not more than a few hours ago... Daniel hated to let her run about however. She wouldn't listen as most infants do. It was best to let her touch the oven and learn per say.
Daniel knew that the area was full of risk but he had intended to visit an area on the other side for some practice with his pokemon.
Under his jacket was a warmed budew egg which he was also protective of. It was a grass type which he had never had any experience with. He always tore up grass types with his bug pokemon when he trained in rustboro. However he was here with his Pokemon.
It was as he was thinking of dinner that he heard a shriek.

Wingull | Male | Keen Eye Daniel wasn't the only one thinking about dinner, above him hungry bird pokemon prowled the skies looking for something to bring back to their cliffside nests. Chief among them was a rather vocal Wingull. These were a dime a dozen around these parts but the fact that they were so common didn't make them any less bothersome when they thought you had food. This particular Wingull took notice of the trainer down below and dove down. It landed on a rock just off the path and let out a shriek, drawing the trainer's attention as it demanded to be fed.

Daniel saw a Wingull swoop down. Which kinda surprised him. Daniel was thinking about perhaps trying to catch it...but it didn't seem as profitable as it would if he battled it.
He called out Klink who seemed being his first pokemon was also the first actual pokemon to use a battle in.
Being that wingull always annoyed him in rustboro it took no giult as he ordered a thundershock out of Klink. Which gladly obeyed his command.
Daniel watched as his Electrike was antsy about not being in the fight. However Daniel calmed the pokemon down without difficulty.
Daniel made sure all his food was out of sight. As he didn't feel like sharing with wingull which was always a pest in his mind.
He studied his klinks reaction time to his command and hope all would work out decent. He would also like to attempt to practice charge beam.

Wingull | Male | Keen Eye The Wingull let out a growl as it was attacked. It just wanted food, it had no interest in battle and was even less inclined to hang about and be used as target practice by some novice trainer. It had seen their like before, shooting beams here, throwing balls there. All in all it was never a pleasant experience when trainers were involved. As electricity arced across the bird, causing its feathers to bristle the Wingull flapped its narrow wings and took off into the air, heading for the open skies above the sea where it could rejoin its squawking brethren.

Daniel began to run after the flying pokemon.
He didn't intend on capturing it but he didn't intend to let it get away.
"Klink use charge beam now. And then again."
Daniel and klink moved. As a fast pace. He hoped to win. If a target fled it was to him a loss.
Daniel dropped down ahill slope and twisted his ankle eve so slightly.
He gasped in pain but ignored it but stumbled again as he turned.
Daniel tripped as he tried to follow it. He saw more in the distance. He admired the bird Pokemon's resistance to fight its decision. However Daniel had only 3balls he wanted to save them... Oh well.
He saw as he tripped his sandwich fell out of his bag along with the rest of his food.

The Wingull wove to the side, dodging the beams as yellow tendrils of electricity arced across the sky. It escaped to the open skies above the waves fairly easily, wingulls were a slippery bunch. As the trainer went for a tumble and spilled his food it caught the eye of numerous bird pokemon. Several left their cliff side perches and dove down at the food. A different Wingull, A Pidgey and a Spearow landed fairly close to the trainer and began squabbling over the sandwich. Fighting off all these pokemon would prove difficult especially with the rest of their flocks on the way. However the food should distract most of them. If the trainer played it right separating one of them shouldn't prove too difficult. The sandwich, however, was a lost cause.

Daniel caught klink who got flung backwards by the over powered charge beam.
It was still a move to try but it was not worth the risk. However the practice was. The move had more strength and didn't send it flying back as hard as last time.
His mind flashed back to when it had used a failed attack and smashed thru 6 feet of stone while flying backwards. Daniel waited to find out he was in pieces. But alas he was fine. The idea was almost as painful.
The sandwich he had saved was rather ironic as it was made from farm raise farfetchd on lettuce tomato and cranberries. He wondered if it counted as cannabolism.
A pidgey and a spearow as well as another wingull. Which was less dignified. Daniel kinda wished he caught that wingull that fled. It had a little more personality he assumed.
He wondered what his chance at catching the pidgey or spearow were. He needed a pokemon that was rough and very durable but he wanted a good delivery pokemon too. He wanted both.
He doubted he'd be able to battle both of them efficiently. Not without messing up or getting mixed up. He wondered. It seemed they were excited about the food. Maybe he could bribe them...with food.
Daniel cleared his throat.
"So who liked the sandwich I made... I'm looking to bring new members along. Seeing that you go crazy for food it seems like we are a match as I always am cooking." Daniel said hoping to buy time.
If it didn't work he'd go for it..Electrike was wondering with anticipation as it wanted to chase the bird pokemon. But so far one thing he taught his pokemon..if you act out you don't get snack or dessert whichever is next.
Daniel pulled out a ball of suet which was made of peanuts and various nut butters and seed. He threw it at the group.
It was his version of a bird pokemon lure. A perfect food and meal for a bird pokemon. He was hoping one of them would accept his offer and ignore the food and come with him. He simply held out a pokeball. Button facing the trio.
"Electrike chase that Wingull away." Daniel commanded. Which the pokemon excitedly did barking.
He wanted to see which pokemon resisted it nature and decided it's own choice.
"I guarantee at least one well made meal a day. I guarantee you will not go hungry with me. " he admitted as he noticed even aron was getting chubby. He had never seen a chubby aron.
But it was a healthy aron. Weight was important to aron and its family.
Daniel crossed his fingers and waited. He didn't like mediocrity but even a pidgey and or a spearow could help him. As he had to get a mail pokemon.
Maybe he could begin training them to fly together as spearow has always been a more stern pokemon than pidgey. But pidgey has always been a reliable courier pokemon. .. Ugh decisions

The Wingull squawked as it was chased off, but it left without much of a fight. The other two birds however were more interested in the food than they were in the trainer. They ignored him, jumping from scrap of food to scrap of food. If he wanted to separate one of them he would have to take another approach. It was certainly going to be hard to separate the bird from its meal but it would be almost impossible when there was more then just one. First things first the trainer would need to further thin out the flock, or be on his way.

Daniel knew his limits were thin. But he had aron Electrike and klink. Aron wasn't to much use but the later two would be sufficient to help. Words didn't mean squat to these pokemon obviously.
Daniel was a little more interested in the spearow. It seemed a little more ideal for some reason. Daniel couldn't place it...
"Klink! Coat yourself in mud with arons help. Then use gear grind on the spearow. And then Electrike use thunder wave. Let's do this this time. " Daniel said. He put together a risky plan. But hopefully it would at least slow down one pokemon. While the spearow would be slowes down he'd use 2of his pokemon to fight off the flocks maybe pickoff any remaining pokemon. But he'd focus on that one spearow.
Daniel threa another sand wich on the ground after breaking it in half.

Spearow | Male | Keen Eye The bird pokemon took wing as the pokemon attacked. They scattered in all directions but the thunderwave did manage to find it's target. The other bird pokemon circled above as the Spearow was attacked by multiple pokemon. It hopped to the side, getting clipped by the gear grind attack before leaping into the sky and flapping it's wings. It didn't appear to be fleeing though. Instead it turned and charged the pokemon with a fury attack, flying about and striking at all of them. From the sky several of its kin dove down was well swiping at the pokemon in a flurry of wings and claws before rejoining the anonymity of the flock above. When the chaos of the group's assault had ended the target Spearow still remained nearby. It's somewhat injured flapping setting it apart from its peers. Fury Attack

Daniel ordered Klink to take the hit...as it'd do minimal damage.
Daniel however recalled all his pokemon except Klink. Since it seemed that the air was cleared per say.
Daniel kneeled down. Daniel was amazed by jow little of a hit was able to affect the pokemon. However Daniel had to admit his previous order was rather well set. As of now the bird pokemon was hurt
Daniel didn't intend to hurt it this bad.
Daniel finally recalled klink.
"Sorry buddy. Didn't mean to hurt ya like that. Nore did I expect your mom to act like that. Daniel pulled out a small piece of suet hiding it in his hand but showing it just enough hoping the pokemon could see it. The food wouldn't heal it but more so would I Give it energey to recover while it rested.
He truly intended to catch this pokemon bit he felt bad. He expected the pokemon to be a little tougher but still. It was injured more than he intended.
" I'm hiding this so that your buddy's won't see it. But as you can see I'm not gonna try to hurt you again. Wouldn't mind catching you but I do t wam a hurt you any more. Was kinda mad about the food. But still I can't hit you like that.you're probably hungery all the time that's why you went for it. Am I right?"
Dani said hoping to comfort the pokemon. A little known fact about him was that he loved working with flying types.. But more specifically birds.
He never raised one but he'd always wanted to try. As his f Journey had evolving his plans slowly changed. The stars were realigning.
He simy knelt there waiting for the pokemon to react. Daniel felt some cuts and scratches t From that fury attack but he ignored it as he had once had a scythers blade go through his shoulder blade. Much more painful too
