The market, oh how it was never a dull day in the place. All sorts of sales were happening day and night in a never ending engagement of merchandise and mass hysteria. When people had the cash, they went nuts buying out everything they could for their journeys to come. Nearly every Trainer in the region was always on the go, and The Marketplace was their most easily accessible area for anything they needed. Lines were short, things were quick, and they were on their way in a jiff. The market always nauseated Nattousai though, it was too crowded and way too loud for his taste. He preferred going later at night just before the shops closed, away from people so he could at least breath without slamming into someone on the way to a food stall. This time though he was at the market in the afternoon; one of the busiest hours! He felt like a slime ball, but he had a Pineco he was trying to sell. The Pokemon was of great appreciation to him, but he just didn't know how to raise this kind of Pokemon properly, and it just didn't enjoy his company all that much, nor did it enjoy the company of the rest of his team. To many selling Pokemon is an act of cruelty, but after being away from the gym for so long he had to make money somehow! He really did feel just crappy doing this to the poor creature, but it was his best option. Just simply giving it away he'd feel even worse.
He wanted to sell to the right person. He had the Pineco in his hands as it looked bored and uncomfortable cradled in his arms. The Pineco looked around at the busy place as if inspecting a promising new Trainer to take it under their wing. It kinda knew what Nattousai was doing, and it was fine with it for the most part, it had no connection with the Gym Leader or a desire to be with him, it just needed to move on with someone else who knew what its needs were and catered to them. Nattousai didn't know the first thing about what it needed, thus the disconnect. "Well I guess this is how we do it...here..." Nattousai throws a sign around the Pineco's neck that said 'For Sale' and waved the Pineco around in the air for anyone that wanted it. "PINECO FOR SALE! Don't hate me! I am just trying to get by people!" Nattousai wasn't picky on the price, but it at least had to be decent to get him to survive a bit longer on his harrowing journey across the region. He would surely be ridiculed by many for this, but he had hope there would be at least someone that would understand his reasoning for doing this, and buy the Pokemon outright before long.
The smell of food vendors was thick in the air. It was the rush hour for everyone. All of the little shops, the solo-sellers, the vendors and sidewalk shops were in their finest hour, making the most money they possibly could. Roman was wandering in between the people shopping and selling. She had found herself in the marketplace in order to do a little networking and advertising for her breeding plot. She had finally gotten it approved and even had a Blitzle egg for sale. The egg was tucked safely in her satchel, something that continuously bounced against her legs as she walked. She was keeping it in front of her for fear that it would be stolen if she wore it normally and she had to admit, it was rather uncomfortable. Every once in a while she called out that she had the egg and it was nearly ready to hatch but no one seemed to want to it.
Roman had seen quite a few interesting Pokemon for sale since she arrived at the marketplace and understood why no one would want to buy a silly little Blitzle egg. She had even considered buying some of the Pokemon that she came across but everyone gave a price that was extremely out of her budget. A large part of her wanted to use all of her money to buy every single Pokemon she came across but she knew she had to save. She needed money for supplies and for the plot. The cost of living was so high and she was barely scraping by on her own. She passed another solo-seller with a Pokemon in his arms and a for-sale sign on it. "PINECO FOR SALE! Don't hate me! I am just trying to get by people!" he called out after she had passed him. A pineco? That was a seed Pokemon with a bug related egg group, something she did not have on her team. The diversity intrigued her but the price would probably cause her to lose interest.
Regardless, the breeder turned around and went after the man selling his Pineco. What was the harm in asking for a price anyway? Maybe he would even be willing to bargain with her. After all, she did have a breeding service and an egg for sale. Something would have to spark his interest. "Excuse me sir, how much are you selling the Pineco for?" Roman bit her lip nervously. She was afraid his price would be all of the Pokedollars that she had. Then she would be compelled to buy it because she had the funds which would leave her broke once again. She had to try. She needed more Pokemon and more diversity to get her business going and battling had proven to be quite the challenge.
ooc// Hey i forgot i had a blitzle egg too, if you want that in the trade let me know Roman is very easy to take advantage of ^-^
Just when Nattousai was about to give up and head back only having a few second thoughts about all this looking like a fool in the marketplace selling a perfectly great Pokemon, someone actually takes interest in his offer!? He could not believe it! Was it the sign? Was it luck? Was it his smexy tone of voice? He hadn't a clue. But someone had just come up to him liking his offer. He should feel accomplished and victorious, it was a celebratory occasion! But instead he still felt dirty and sinister for selling a Pokemon. Either way, he would see the Pineco to a nice new home and wash his hands of this guilt. This nervous young woman coming up to him for the Pineco was a shy yet sweet lady. Immediately he felt a warmth emitting from her, and a genuine kindness. Yes, she would do, she would do just fine. "Well my lady, what are you offering for this little whipper snapper?" He waves the Pineco in front of her face in a tease while the Pineco grows dizzy and tries not to vomit. He stops once he sees how uncomfortable the Pineco was and simply dangles him in front of the girl like a delicate prize.
"This is a one of a kind Pokemon after all. Hard to find these miniature explosive firecrackers you know. They say you can only really find them hanging in a tree once in a while. I got lucky and found it as an egg. It hatched and out came a Pokemon I haven't the first clue what the heck to do with." Nattousai was trying to really talk up the Pineco as a treasure of a Pokemon; a rare gem one could never find so simply. He'd like to think it was working. "And the Pokemon it can evolve into. Oh my! What a powerhouse! It can one day turn into a knockout Foretress! One of the most armored and defensible Pokemon there is! Gasp! No I shouldn't...I shouldn't sell such a catch! I can't. I musn't!" Nattousai begins to turn his back to the girl and walk away; ofcourse he is faking this, and slowly turns towards the girl again acting as if he had been wounded by his own actions. "How dare I...Oy Vey...how could I sell this precious Pokemon!" Again he begins walking away, but stops, changing his mind...again..."But if the price is right, and your heart's in the correct place...maybe this Pokemon is...for you!" The Pineco is not amused. And yawns while Nattousai is putting on this vague one man show for the girl. It may be a bit too much for her taste, but in his mind he was on fire.
"I have no doubt my lady, that you will throw me a stellar deal on this divine Pineco. So....what can you offer, hmm?" Nattousai was scarily reminding himself of one of those creepy salesmen he would see in low budget horror movies trying to sell something with a really bad consequence or side effect to it to poor innocent people. Except the Pineco just needed a good home and to a good hearted individual. The price didn't matter so much, it shouldn't. To just do this for cash would be wrong, very very wrong. He would more than likely take whatever the girl would offer, at least he would if he had any sort of compassion whatsoever. Luckily Nattousai wasn't the worst guy around, and did have some sort of heart in that poisonous chest of his. This girl would see that first hand. He was actually excited to give this Pineco to her, she need only throw out an offer, and it would be hers. Any high number of cash or an amazing item of some kind in return would be a luxury, but giving what she could would be enough. He would make sure not to be so picky on the price.
The man turned around with his Pineco. He wanted to know what she was offering instead of just listing a price. Oh thank heavens. She could finally save her wallet a little and hopefully bargain in something nice. Before she could respond the seller went on a monologue about the Pokemon. He was really trying to up-sell the creature that she was already sold on. Probably hoping for a better price or something. Regardless, Roman tried to tell him that she already knew about the Pineco species, she had after all, gone to an extremely expensive school for years on end. She raised her finger as she started to speak only to find herself cut off by the man's unending speech. The breeder furrowed her brow as he started walking away, pretending that he no longer wanted to sell it. Her arms crossed the second time he started walking away.
When he had finally settled down, he asked again what she could offer for the Pokemon. Roman took a deep breath. She wanted another Pokemon but offering too low would cause the seller to lose interest and look for a better buyer elsewhere. It had happened to her all day long while she was trying to bargain. "I don't have very much money, but, I do have this Blitzle egg that is quite unique. It's parents are both pure bred and it only has the finest of genes it in." Ah yes, the genes of lazy Mini who refuses to do anything but steal food, sleep, and eat. Then again, the genes of Toaster probably canceled out the mother's genes. She cleared her throat and decided to continue, "I also happen to be a breeder and can breed anything that you would like within reason." She gave a small nod. Of course, that wasn't a solid offer. She felt the need to state what her actual offer was going to be. "I can give you 3,000 Pokedollars and one of two things, this egg, which is worth a fortune and ready to hatch, or I can offer you a discount on all of my prices as a breeder. Oh, let's say 25% off of what they are normally. Does that sound fair to you Mr. Hyperbole?"
Roman uncrossed her arms and stood back for a moment. She felt like her offer was fair but then again everyone that was selling that day wanted more than a meek 3,000. They were all asking in the upwards of 10,000. Her price for the egg wasn't anywhere near that high yet somehow everyone was managing to sell their Pokemon. Perhaps an actual Pokemon was worth more than an egg. Still, she was beginning to re-evaluate everything she had done so far in regards to her breeding plot. She would have to get back home and review finances. The purchase probably would not help her situation of being poor any. In fact, it would probably make things worse. Ah well, at least she would still have enough left over for food.
Nattousai was thrown off by the right off the bat amazing offer he was given by the girl. It wasn't a low or unfair offer at all, in fact it was alot more than he was expecting, and just the opposite of a bad deal by any means. He even had choices! A breeder discount and 3000 poke dollars, a primed and ready Blitzle egg and 3000 poke dollars, or he could be nice and just take the poke dollars. It didn't take him very long to decide, for the Pineco was starting to get a little too prickly in his arms. He went with the poke dollars and the discount, letting her keep her precious egg that she appeared very attached to anyway judging by how hard she was hugging it. "You are too kind to offer such a great bargain. I can't bear to see you part with that Blitzle egg as much as it'd be great to have, it just isn't my style to tame such a shocker of an electric type. I'll take the discount and the poke dollars you are offering. That'll be just fine by me." With the deal struck, Nattousai says a brief goodbye to his former Pineco, and places it on the woman's shoulder. Already the Pineco looks so much happier snuggling up on her shoulder as if it had found a comfy and precious new home. It smiles thankful that Nattousai had handed it off to a much more capable trainer of its unique necessities. "Goodbye Pineco old friend...I'll miss you." He stops a moment, rethinking his words. "Well, I guess I should say new friend right? Since it just recently hatched and all....yeah sure, that works. Goodbye new friend!" Pineco frowns saying goodbye to Nattousai with a wiggle of its body, and then goes right back to resting and enjoying the shoulder of the woman.
"Careful with that one by the way. It tends to enjoy blowing up randomly. But it looks so happy right now, I really don't think you have anything to worry about my dear. I gave him to the right person." Nattousai was so very glad the right Trainer came along for the Pineco and not the wrong one, he was starting to feel desperate, and he was grateful that he didn't have to rid himself of Pineco by other means in which he did not want to bother with nor had the heart for. "Almost forgot, don't forget this!" Nattousai takes out the Pineco's Poke' Ball and places it in the girl's front pocket carefully. She would definitely need that. "And not to worry either madame, I won't spend your money all in one place, nor will I abuse your kindly offered discount breeding prices. I appreciate your business, and your delightful spirit. Your sincerity moves me. That Pineco will be in good hands of this I have no doubt." With the transaction completed, he waits for his pay from the lady and then prepares to be on his merry way. The Pineco was now freely in someone else's capable care, and Nattousai needn't feel guilty about his decision, but rather, rejoice that everything had gone so well, when it could have gone oh so wrong. He was thankful for the small things in life, and in this case, the subtlety of good business was among those things, and nothing could ruin this exchange now.
Pineco | Male | Sturdy
This Pineco is a very peculiar sort. It likes to analyze Trainers and judge their personalities overtime. It's wise for its young age, and will grow and mature quickly. It's surprisingly easy to make happy and get along with. If you treat it well, and with love and care, it will do the same for you. Easily adaptable to any environment and situation, it will prove to be an ideal traveling companion with minimal attitude problems and just the right amount of sass when the situation calls for it. A perfectly balanced, perfectly healthy loyal companion! Just don't make it mad, or let others make it too mad, or else it might blow up in your face. LITERALLY!

The transaction took a little longer than what was expected because the man selling the Pineco once again had to produce a speech. It was quite alright though for the Pokemon was soon sitting on her shoulder, happily buzzing away. It was then that the man handed over the Pokeball that the Pineco belonged in. Success! She had bought her first Pokemon and added yet another egg group to her collection. As well as she had a new affiliate and connection in the real world. Perhaps with this first connection she would be able to have a more successful afternoon. Maybe he would even get her more connections by talking about the lovely woman that bought his Pineco for breeding purposes. Word of mouth was always a good way to get a name out in the region. After all, that was how she had heard of the marketplace, and the little cafe that had given her the best coffee she had ever had. The purchase had been expensive but it was an advantage in marketing.
After placing the Pokeball on her belt loop she sifted through her bag to find the money as well as her business card. She handed both objects to the man, "It has been a pleasure doing business with you. I would just like your name please so that I can right the discount in my records." Roman gave a small nervous laugh and handed the man a piece of paper so that he could right his name on it. Hopefully he wouldn't mind making the interaction last a few seconds longer. No, he shouldn't mind. He was getting a great deal on an amazing and quality service so writing his name down was not that big of a deal. After he did everything would be well and done.
The deal was sealed. He would get his cash and his discount for breeding, and the Pineco would be in the care of a worthy breeder. He never knew why he never got into breeding, he tried to remember a time when he could have became one before he became a Gym Leader when the region was in such short supply of breeders, and he had been offered to be taught the ways of a breeder several times, but he much rather enjoyed teaching Trainers the art of battling and a good challenge over mating and analyzing a Pokemon's birth cycle any day. He respected breeders, whole heartedly, but it was an acquired taste, and it required alot of patience, he had none of that. Gym Leading suited him, and he would see to it he'd continue to lead confidently and proudly. He had heard the girl mention that she needed his name, and he obliged her happily, not surprised she didn't know who he was already, the girl seemed naive at best, but sweet. He expected her not to know him. "The name is Nattousai Fang, Dizhen City Gym Leader. And I beg you not to tell a soul I was here selling a Pokemon...please." He sounded real brash with his plea, he really didn't want anyone to know he did what he did.
He trusted the girl would understand and help keep the exchange a secret. Although, there were so many people around it would be rather foolish to assume not one person from Dizhen City was here and not one person waltzing around the busy market saw Nattousai and recognized him. He knew the risks of what he did, and he accepted whatever consequences would come of it. Maybe a meeting with the league members for selling Pokemon? Maybe a suspension. Who knows, but he just wanted to leave this place already before anybody recognized him. "Now if you don't mind, I'd like payment so I can take my leave. And if I come across any other extraordinary Pokemon that I don't see myself appropriate to train, I will look you up." He still waits for his payment.
The man stated that he was Nattousai, a gym leader from Dizhen city. A gym leader? Roman had just made an affiliate with a gym leader! God, not only was it her first connection on the island but it was also her first league connection. If she could get in good with the man her reputation would be massive in just a short while. There would be nothing stopping her from being a successful breeder. She gave a small nod when he asked her not to share that he had been selling a Pokemon. It made sense that someone as important as him wanted to keep a rep as someone who cared for and trained Pokemon. Selling one but a small little black mark on that reputation but only they would know about that. It wasn't like the Pineco was going into the wrong hands though, Roman would be sure to love it as much as she could. She reached her hand up and stroked it for a moment before turning her attention back to the gym leader. He was asking for his payment.
A little confused, the breeder replied, "It was folded up under the business card?" She gave a small giggle, "I pray you did not just lose my payment." Roman flashed a wide smile. That small clarification should have been the end of the transaction. She gave another small nod and waved before turning to take her leave, his last words still lingering in her mind. If he had any other extraordinary Pokemon he would be willing to sell them to her. She just had to keep the funds with her. It would be an easy way to get some Pokemon though. It would also help strengthen her relationship with the gym leader so that he could actually give her good credit. The day had been a success and now it was time for her to head back to the plot and get to know the little Pineco a little better. Perhaps she could even find him a creative name.
