T he misdreavus’s screech was nothing in comparison to the noise that came from the exasperated trainer’s mouth. Now, of all times! Fate, had she not just climbed a mountain?! What must a trainer do to appease you, oh gods of luck?!
“Gengar!” Jodie shouted with such ferocity that the ghost-type ignored the tired crack in the second syllable and snapped to startled attention. “Shadow ball! Payback!”
Gengar, alarmed by his trainer’s response, didn’t hesitate in the slightest. Nor did he hold back. He pushed as much power into that shadow ball as he could muster (though its edges rocked, unstable with the pokemon’s confusion), and shot it full-force at the poor little pokemon who was fated to feel the wrath of Jodie.
Gengar didn’t really have anything personal to pay the pokemon back for, but he went with the move anyway. Gliding swiftly through the air, the larger ghost type flew at the other, fists balled together to bring down on the misdreavus’s head.

Misdreavus | Female | Levitate The Misdreavus closed its mouth real quick as the other ghost pokemon attacked. It was used to people running when startled, not fighting back. The quick little Misdreavus ducked back into the barrel, narrowly dodging the shadow ball but as soon as it poked its little ghostly head back out the payback attack walloped it. Knocking the pokemon down into the barrel. It was silent for a few seconds before a piercing screech came from inside, moments later the light of a psybeam attack erupted from the mouth of the barrel and shot straight up towards the sky. Seconds later there was a tap on Jodie's shoulder. There the Misdreavus hovered, the spooky little ninja that it was. With a sound which could best be described as a cackle it flew towards the Gengar and used astonish. -- Psybeam, Astonish
