562 WORDS - TAG - NOTES
Well, he was finally here. Sitting aboard his father's Swellow, Arin clutched onto the bird pokemon's back as it dived down and touched the grass below with a thud. "So we're here?" The boy asked the blue and red pokemon, which merely responded with a few tweets. "I'll take that as a yes." Arin hopped off Swellow, scratching the bird on the head as it nuzzled up to him. He had grown up with it after all, but as much as he wanted to bring Swellow along with him, it was still his father's pokemon. "Tell everyone else that I haven't died yet and made it here, OK?" Swellow gave a quick nod before spreading it's wings and flying upwards. It let out a few calls in response to Arin, then took off back into the sky.
So this was the Rakuen Region, huh? Looking around, Arin noted the small town behind him, but he really had no reason to go yet. His parents already gave him a few pokeballs, a pokedex, and the brochure about the region he picked up earlier had a map of it inside. Sitting down and digging through his bag, Arin pulled out one of his occupied pokeballs. After pressing the button on the front, the red and white orb opened and released one of the boy's pokemon- a rather small Goomy that immediately leapt up and stuck itself to Arin's foot, but Arin managed to pull off the blob of goop that passed itself off as a dragon, letting it climb up his arm and perch on his shoulder. "Well Nimbus, we're here. What do 'ya think? I mean, we finally get to head off and do stuff!" Nimbus seemed to be rather happy as well. She wasn't always one for the dangerous shenanigans Arin always got himself into, but this seemed peaceful enough.
"But it seems like the path splits here. Which way..." Arin examined the two paths. The left path seemed to be the safer route- a few tide pools here and there with some water pokemon peacefully swimming around. The right side seemed to be ravaged by strong winds, since Arin could see the trees swaying as if a storm were right on top of them. "Well the right side seems more dangerous, which means it will be more fun. Let's go!" Arin began to head to the windy path, only to hear Nimbus call out in displeasure. She saw the numerous pidgeotto and even spotted a Noctowl up in the sky of the left route. They were probably hungry also, and Nimbus did not want to be on the menu. Arin saw the panicked expression in his pokemon's eyes, and turned around to head left. "Oh, you're such a party pooper. We'll go left, but we're gonna come back and try the right path later, okay? Okay. And you are going to have to battle. You know that, right Nimbus?"
Heading left, Arin saw the dragon type on his shoulder relax. He might of headed right if he could, but he couldn't say no to Nimbus. Just as they headed down the trail, Arin saw some of the tall grass near him rustle. Nimbus shook a bit, but she quickly dismissed the idea of a foe around here being big enough to eat her... Right?
